Fishing the marsh has been extremely easy....UNTIL TODAY. Ran Jerry from Denver, Co out today for Denberry Mgmt in the godevil for a little marsh fishing. We did a lot of casting with not a whole lot of luck on the trout today. STRONG outgoing tide, N winds, and a slight dip in the temperature apparently really decided to give the trout lock jaw today. We probably should have had our 50 fish limit but the fish were really short stiking and we missed a bunch of fish just at the moment of truth at the boat. Fished until 1 Pm for around 35 trout and 1 red. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow the trout will be back on fire.

Heck of a day working the odds. Only the great can get it done in rough conditions. :-)

Don't know. Still have not brought it out on the maiden voyage. Can't get out of the marsh fishing mode cuz it has been just too easy and a lot more cost effective when talking about burning maybe 1 1/2 gallons of gas compared to 20 gallons of gas minimum.

I usually end up killing brain cells when I go out with PQ plus a long history of coming home injured and one time engaged! He can stay in Tx!

I'm glad to see that I am not being blamed for the things that happened to Bigun... Although I believe the brain cells comment applies to anyone fishing with him... :-)

Bigun, I think the last time we fished together nothing bad happened -- first time ever to have a trip go off without a hitch.

I certianly need some luck rubbed on... It has been a tough year for me so far but that is going to change as soon as I can talk Wes into meeting me at Purtis Creek again... The stage is set for another double digit fish. Conditions are prime and it is just a matter of time now...

I can understand the brain cells comment but you need to explain in greater detail how you came back engaged! This has to be a good one.

It basically started with a fishing trip from hell (we caught fish but nothing else went right), ending with a 10x4 going across the top of my head, I fell in the water, had a wild ride to the ER with PQ driving and having to hit the shoulder one time with the boat in tow zooming by a car doing about 40, resulting in 7 stitches, lots of pain pills, and waking up in Lafayette being told "we" bought a ring and we were engaged. I could have lived with all of this if Mike would have stopped me from going to Lafayette with my desperate wife but NOOOOOOOOO. After 9 yrs of dating I guess it was time. :-)

You left out the on-board charger catching on fire while we were fishing, Dameon's <sp?> knee just blew out for no reason while we were just drifting along fishing. One minute he is standing next to me fishing and the next minute he screams bloody murder and falls overboard.

The wild ride back was compounded by the fact that I was driving your OLD Datsun pickup with the steering wheel on upside down and a set of brakes that would barely stop the truck without anything behind it, let alone with an 18' bass boat in tow. You in the passenger seat bleeding out from the top of your skull.

That woman just decided to stop in the middle of nowhere and when I hit the brakes the truck just kept on plowing towards the rear end of her car so the only choice I had was to whip it onto the shell shoulder between the ditch and the road. Not sure how I did not loose control on that one.

It was still classic when we got into Houma and were stopped at a red light and she pulled up on Wade's side of the truck to apologize and saw his head and face all bloody.

I felt bad about the engagement but she snuck that one by while I was at you house cleaning that mess of fish we caught before you cracked your skull open... :-)

Ahhhh... the memories...

Did I ever mention the first time Wade and I ever fished together? He blew up the trolling motor battery any the acid shredded his clothes by the time we made it back to the ramp....

Then there was the time... ROFLMAO...

No matter what happened though, we always caught fish.

Fun Times ya' hear me! Lesson learned: You want something broke, just bring Mike fishing.

Ran charters the last two days. Same story both days. Super low, crystal clear water with more reds than you can even imagine. Large packs of the spookiest redfish I've ever seen. Ended up having to quit running the troll motor today and use the wind and the pushpole to get you between packs. You would catch one or two per pack and they would be off to the races however did not take long to find another pack. Easy limits of reds both days. Trout were not quite so easy. Apparently they have lock jaw from the tides dropping so long and so low. Need one more high tide to push some trout in to get one last run at them before they head to the bays and then the coast.
