My brother wanted me to bring him and his stepson Trent fishing this afternoon. With the winds howling I really did not want to go...but I did! I talked to several people Friday afternoon and they told me unless you had minnows, don't go fishing. Well I bought 75 minnows due to this and wished I would have bought more afterwards. Hit several spots with no luck but as always in this area finally found some fish. And live bait is what they wanted. Free lined larsh did not last long in the water and the boys had a blast. I never switched over from artificial and it was just hard to get the trout to hit any color but I found out why. The trout were full of 1.5" croaker and my experience is when trout get on croaker it is hard to catch them on artificial. We ended up with 44 trout and 2 reds but I can let you know that if you would have had three experienced fisherman and 100+ larsh you would have had a quick 75 trout limit where we were at. Good time was had by all and as you can tell from the camera I did not have much to work with. :-)

BTW, I'm re-thinking buying this bay boat. I nearly went into sticker shock today when I pulled up to put some gas in at the marina and the gas was $3.22 a gallon! :-(

LMAO! I know they had one heck of a BigUn good time. Live bait and young Coonies = if they don't work we eat the bait! LOL!

Congrats Wade. I bet a double drop rig with colors matching the Larsh may have worked too?

No doubt they had a ball... It's always funny to read complaints about not getting a limit...

Great job finding fish and puttin the boys on 'em.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Woke up bright and early Easter Sunday in my Sunday best as you can see to clean the fish.

Me in my Easter Sunday Best
Found out why they want live bait. All of this came out of one 14" trout. Almost ever trout had larsh in it's belly with a few croakers in some. I can't remember cleaning trout with so many larsh in them.

I hope to bring out the girls this afternoon for a quick trip in the go-devil but no faster than they and their mom are moving right now I doubt it happens.

As always, Great job Wade. Don't let the gas prices scare you away from a boat that you can catch fish out of.

Dru, that is the problem. Every where I went with the bay boat are the same places I've been going fish in the godevil. One gallon compared to 20 gallons=retarded but had to go run it a few times before I turn the check over this week. :-)
