One of my fishing buddies talked me into going to Bonham this past Saturday. I was hesitant because the forecast was for 20MPH winds with gust up to 35 (I hate fishing in extreme wind).

We luanched the boat around 8:45 and in short order had a couple of fish on at our first stop. However the wind was beating us to death, so we moved to a protective cove and started to flip the reeds. We caught several fish and made another pass catching some more. Our basic pattern was flipping reeds and cranking rocks.

We ended up boating 26 LMB and losing 4 or 5 others. Nothing really big.
As usual I didn't take any pictures!

SIDE NOTE: We did encounter a home owner that thinks if your fishing in front of his house you are tresspassing. I tried to explain to him that the lake is public and he doesn't own the water. I finally told him to call the police if he "really" thinks I tresspassing. The whole ordeal was quite humerous but I kept thinking to myself that if he's that much of a redneck to think I'm tresspassing on the water he might just go looking for a gun which is no bueno.

Anywho, it was just a nice relaxing day of catching!

Sounds like fun Charles. My friend called but instead of inviting me to fish, he just gave me the play by play as he plucked some big fish off their beds. Atleast you got to go.

Nice job.

Sounds like a great day Charles. If you were in La it would be possible you are trespassing. Man, do we have some crazy water/land property laws and It's catching on nationwide: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/conservation/news/story?page=b_con_news_fishing_private_property

Heck of a day Charles and congratulations. LOL about the disgruntled lakeside home owner. I guess some don't realize living on the water does have some offshore activies outside the land owners control LOL Should have had a video camera to cover that scene.

Sounds like a great day Charles... I took Corey out Sunday afternoon from 3:00pm to around 6 ish. I pitched wood and reeds for a little while with the braided line and could not make the connection on the fish -- bent a hook on one, lost 3 others, then finally boated one. Switched to the spinnerbait and caught 4 more up to 3 pounds before we headed home. All of the spinnerbait fish were on points of reeds sticking out. They were hammering the spinnerbait and I lost one fish also on the SB. Corey did not catch one but she had fun trying and worked on her casting skills... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
