Just wanted to let you know (aka rub it in) that I will be leaving next Sunday the 7th, I arrive in Mazatlan on Sunday and will be offshore fishing for sails and dorado on Monday morning and heading to the lodge and fishing thru that Thursday the 12th staying at the Angler's Inn.

I have been wanting to do this trip for a while now and I got an awesome deal and couldn't pass this one up.
I am going with Kelly Jones owner of Kicker Fish bait company and a few of our other friends.

I am going to do my best to get plenty of photo and video documentation and hopefully make FishingTexas.net proud!

I sure could use a hat Picou!!

I look forward to getting the baits and putting them to use. I'll make sure to post pics of the hawgs I catch with them... :-)

Alright.....I'm back on US Soil and thanks to having my bag stolen with my wallet and my Fishing Texas hats and tackle inside...anyway I horsed out a ton of Mexico bass over the 4 days we were there. 2 of my fish went over 10lbs. and probably 80 7+ lb. Fish. The lake was only at 30% capacity due to being pulled down for irrigation but still the majority of big fish came in 25+ foot of water. I had my heart broke several times on fish that would push 12lbs....: :-( I broke off 4 different times on P-Line Spectrex 10-50 on fish I couldn't even turn. The fish are so strong that it is unbelievable.....trust me I looked stupid several times calling for the net only to find about a 3 pounder giving me hell!

The majority (90%) of my fish came on 4 baits.... 6" Storm Swim bit in Golden Mullet color, Zoom Magnum Brush Hog in Watermelon Red with the tails dipped in chartreuse garlic dipping dye, Bill Dance Fat Free Shad in Citrus color and a Red Shad Kicker Craw rigged Texas style.

It was definitely a great trip and I will let the pictures do the talking.

We went offshor Monday and didn't have a single strike in about 7½ hours trolling...that sucked.

I've been to El Salto twice now and just like Jason said, you really have to go to appreciate it. Its everything people say it is. I've gotten broken off 4 or 5 times and called for the net on some 3 pounders too. I takes a week or so for the bruise on your stomach where you anchor your rod to set the hook to go away. Can't wait to get back there. Great recap!!!
