Thursday evening Ozziefish calls me up and asked if I wanted to go fishing on friday since it was his bachelor party day and he wanted to rip some lips. What he did not tell me was that his boat was in the shop and just needed someone to haul his sorry butt around on the lake... :-)

Well, we headed to the lake and within 5 casts Ozz nails fish one of the day on a jig.

I was still trying to get my rods together when he landed that one and he held nothing back on me. Before I knew it he was 3 fish up on me and all I could come up with was this little crappie.

Ozz just would not let me get caught up and kept adding to his lead.

At some point in the morning the winds kicked up and we got a breif shower. Oz was kicking my butt so I went ahead and pulled out my secret weapon and started picking up slack. I have yet to figure out why they like it so much but I made up 3 fish in about 10 minutes once I started fishing it.

Here is a good example of the type of fish liked my selection.

We had a great time but had to leave the lake at 2:00pm. It was almost time to go and Oz is running the trolling motor when he sets the hook on another solid Lake-'X' bass. He got about 3 cranks on his fish and I felt that wonderful feeling of a bass on the end of the line and I set the hook on what was to be the tieing fish when all of the sudden my line snaps and the fish rolls over right in front of the boat. Oz sees the fish roll and immediately starts razzin me about loosing mine while he was still bringing in what ended up being the fish that put him ahead. I looked at my watch and it was 2:00pm and time to go. Final tally -- 15 bass and 1 crappie. Oz caught 8 bass and I caught 7 bass. 'Bout time he caught some fish... :-)

I had a great time Ozzie... I look forward to doing it again.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Way to go guys and congrats Oz!

I hit Austin's Town Lake today and only had one about 1.5 lbs. Too many kayakers running up and down the lake today to really keep them staged. Guess I need to rig a few split shot rigs next trip :-)

It's an assumed name Dru... :-)

No rocks Charles, all cover that produced fish was green... :-) No dock fish either which was odd for that lake...

Once I lost my jig and he nearly beat me... The floating worm landed a few too.

Hey Bigun... I forgot to add that the bachelor party was mostly just a bunch of horse's asses...

As they raced around the track of course... :-) Had a great time betting on the ponies but no pictures were taken from my camera. I walked out with more money than I went in with (single digits of course...) :-)

PQ you have to cast to the metal docks. Wood docks just don't deliver :-)

Looks like you guys had a good day of fishing. Heck that crappie looks almost big enough to be a legal length for bass.
