Any body willing to point me in the right direction for catching some LMB or SMB on Texoma? I've only fished this lake a couple of times with a striper guide, so I don't know the lake at all. Thanks in advance! |

Charles, where are you going out of? The topwater bite is starting but the FLW guys caught most of their fish swimming a white jig around docks. Smallmouth are being caught on top and on ball head rigged worms. Look for rocky banks with a little wind on them. Little Mineral and Grand Pappy point are good areas. Soldier and Caney Creeks are good. The lake is real muddy right now but I think the dock pattern will still work. Also, small white spinnerbaits. (according to the FLW guys-they couldn't keep the stripers off the spinnerbaits) I fished a tournament there last year at this exact time. There was a TTT tournament going on the same day and atleast half the field started in Soldier creek. I caught all my fish on a Deep Baby N white in color. But, with the water conditions white may not be the best. Also, the water has come up 2 feet in the last couple of days and that will put a lot more cover in the water. Good luck and let me know if I can help with anything else. BassZone.com

I've got two good patterns for this time of year. One was mentioned by Dru. Throw white spinnerbaits around boat docks. It doesn't matter what the depth is just run the bait along side the floats. I also like throwing a perch colored stick bait along sandy drop-offs. I usually catch some pretty good LM doing that. Some other backup patterns are worms in shallow brush piles and top waters in the backs of isolated pockets. Good luck. Let us know how you do. If you're richer than me I think we're related. Thanks for the info guys. I don't know where I will put in at. If I get my boat back today or tomorrow, I might run up there Sunday. Thanks again. |

Looking forward to the report Charles. I have not been to Texoma at all this year. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

My brother just got back from the Bass Champs tournament this weekend and said the fishing was horrible. Rained on and off all day Saturday. He only caught three whites and the guy he was fishing with only caught two undersized blacks. i don't think he got pushed out of the top ten though. Vegatarian: Indian Word for Bad Fisherman

Wow... that sounds like a tough bite for sure. I considered heading to the lake to try and catch some stripers this weekend but someone reminded me about the big tournament so I decided to stay away. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
