Who's fishing this weekend? I think I'm taking my youngest brother in the morning going scouting for some redfish due to have a charter Saturday morning. Charter Sat AM and Will probably then ride back to the house and pack my two girls up and spend the night at the camp grilling some 1.5" steaks and sucking back some Tangeray I have left over. Bring the girls fishing Sun AM (not too early though) and then boil some shrimp for the wife. I'm tired already! :-)

Nobody likes a show-off. Good luck Wade. Have fun with your lil Bro and the girls.

It will next weekend before I can wet a line.

If you catch a big red, dig around in its head for some rocks. I need some new mojo.

Anyone want to take bets on the over/under of when Wade will have limit in the boat?

I say it's another "tough" day and it takes him until 10 a.m. to put a limit of specs and reds in the boat.

lol... :-)

Which day???

With the full moon this weekend it may be tough if there is a lot of tide movement. I think he will be done before 10:00am if he gets on the water before 8:00am... :-)

It's about time someone realizes I'm GOOD!!! It took until 11 but we did not get out to the spot until 8:15 or so! :-) Was a beautiful day down here. After fixing a dead motor battery problem due to I left the VHF on last weekend first spot was where I caught them last Friday and it was full of bait but only caught 6 nice trout. We made a decision we would run South despite all the wind the past few days. We arrived at a shell pile I usually catch fish on and was kind of disgusted at seeing what appeared to be chocolate colored water. However after running all that way figured we would fish it. Started looking at the water and while it looked filthy you could see the troll motor and your baits a good foot down. We drifted this bank and shell pile and I caught about 8-10 trout but my two partners did not catch any. We keep floating down this bank another mile or so with little action. They wanted to keep running East from here but I decided we needed to go hit the down current side of the shell pile again where I caught those fish. What an awesome decision I made for once. The tide had started moving out and the trout were cranked up hitting single LSU H&H cocaho minnows. We caught fish until we decided we had to be getting close. I asked if anyone felt like pulling them out the chest to count them??? No one ever wants to re-handle nasty trout so of course the answer was no. I figured we needed fifteen more so we decided we could catch ten and head home. Caught those ten rather quick and headed home. Counted them pulling them out of the boat and we had 65. Were were ten short of our limit but there was no doubts we could have did it if we would have wanted. BTW, all ten we were short was my brother's IMO (no-fish catching SOB). No one was unhappy about not catching the limit after cleaning what we had! :-) Was going to take some pictures but both set of rechargeable batteries were dead! Hopefully they will be on again tomorrow for my charter. Probably not since it is a Saturday. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Pics man, we need pics. Great job as always. I'm going to send you some tackle. Not to use just rub some of your magic on it and send it back.

Tear them up again on Sat.

Well, I'm not even going to talk about my charter's Saturday! I'll just let it rest at I suck at fishing some days! Was not my brightest moment but was constrained by a few factors one of them being they had to be in a ten in the morning. Kind of limits the area you can fish.

Anyway, I rode back into town yesterday and picked up my three kids and brought them to the my buddies camp who also has a daughter. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and pigged out on some dungenous and king crabs and an awesome cheesecake. My wife joined us later that night after getting off work. Anyway we decided we would ride out to Last Isle Sunday AM with our girls and his wife. My wife wanted to stay at the camp using Joshua as the excuse. She is not exactly the outdoorsie type. We left around 7 am and got out there about 45 minutes later. We set the girls up on their spot on the sand.

After this Gerald and I got the fishing equipment together and headed down the beach to a sand flat we knew about. We fished for about 45 minutes on this flat but the storms from last year really changed it and no more guts in it and everything is just flat. So we started wondering back on the outside of the flat where it was deeper and we found the fish. We both personally lost more fish today than I can ever remember losing in one period. I know I lost at least 8 healty trout that I actually had my hand on at one point and lost a good ten more just reeling in. Gerald was 0 for 5 to start with. We still ended up with 21 gourgeous chunky trunk in less than two hours of fishing however the girls (ie, Gerald's wife) was ready to go before we could finish our limit. We accomplished what we wanted anyway.

I took a few more pictures of the girl when I got them in the boat. They were ready to ham it up.

We cleaned the boat, the camp, and snacked on some Pizza and it was time to head back to civilization. But on my way out of the marina, I found some shrimp for sell. Boiled shrimp sounded good on Mama's day so I picked up twenty pounds of gourgeous shrimp. I deheaded and peeled around ten of the pounds and will fry some up during the week along with a few of the trout. I'm fixing to go boil the rest and bring them to my brother-in-laws next door to eat along with some shrimp/crab bisque he made. Will try to remember to take a few pixels. It really sucks living in South La!

Was an awesome weekend and is hard to be home and realize I'll be locked up in an office again tomorrow.

Great recap Wade. I showed those pictures to Connie and she was quite jealous about the 20 pounds of shrimp... Heck, I am jealous about the shrimp, fish, beach, boat, etc... :-)

Looks like everyone had a great time...

Man, it is a rough life living in South La. Just got thru de-heading and tailing 80 more lbs of shrimp for the freezer. What a evening for my wife to be off at training in Baton Rouge. About right. I'm really tired. I need to move to Texas where you can just go to Red Lobster and get them cooked already! :-)
