Geesh.... Where is everyone?

Do I have to start posting some of the thousand+ pictures I took this weekend to get ya'll to come back?

Thank goodness next weekend is Memorial Weekend and maybe I can finaly get a fishing pole in my hand again and at least try to catch some fish...

Anyone been following The BASS ZONE?

I'll be done for the weekend in about 4 hours. If any of you North Texas folks have the afternoon free, head out to Will Rogers and come see the final 6 and meet the man who wins the $250,000. Weigh in starts at 4:00pm.

I was down in Old Mexico looking a deer lease and helping a friend set up some new feeders and move a couple of blinds. This place looks like a bowhunters paradise. Plenty of draws with thick brush that none of the gun hunters have hunted in over 4 years. I am thinking sanctuary. Now I just need a spot to open up for me to get on.

So who won?

Hope to get a line in the water this weekend myself. Haven't been able to all year. gonna try and catch some catfish Sunday evening and then fish for bass Monday morning before the skiers and PWC's start zooming around lake Travis.

Peter "T" Thliveros took home $255,000 for 4 days of fishing -- how's that for a paycheck...... :-)

The recap of the tournament is posted on www.basszone.com so check it out.

I followed the Tournament through your work all weekend. You did a great job.

The fishing seemed to be better than most thought it would be.

Great work on the pics and interviews. Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Mike, you need to put together a "behind the scenes" story with pics.

Since you just spent 4 days "goofing-off" and don't have anything better to do.

It's hard to believe that writing and talking about fishing can be such hard work. Thanks for the superb coverage.

Mark and I talked about that today. I have no photos of behind the scenes though. I may still write something up as a kinda "What I Learned" type of story. It was an eye opener for me buddy... I bet Mark was sitting at home laughing at me. It's ok, when the pros would ask me where he was I would tell them, "Probably sitting at home on the couch drinking a cold beer." :-)

I introduced myself to Menendez and said I was with The BASS ZONE and he immediatly told me to tell Marky Mark that he is a butt head... :-)

All of the pros that I came in contact with by either following them on the water or post weigh in interviews were extremely helpful and most asked about Mark at one time or another. He has certianly made an impact on those guys and earned their respect. That made my life a little easier being the rookie. I met Ray Scott and spent a lot of time talking with him, I worked hand and hand with Ray Sasser from the Dallas Morning News and he was a lot of fun to be around. Several of the media crews from ESPN and tons of other media.

These things are certianly a production and I feel for the pros after what I saw this weekend. I was talking with Mike McClelland and told him that I have a new respect for what they do.

I think having someone on site has given us a little more credibility with the anglers.

When you take away all the patches and logos they are just guys trying to catch fish.

Great work

Congrats Picou on another fine job.

Congrats Aggiebow on the fishing and
Well, me and Sheetz hooked up yesterday and went fishing out of Cocodrie, La. We absolutely blanked out on trout (maybe 6 fish) but it was quite an experience to say the least. I thought it was just the flat tide but I mean everyone else I talked to absolutely slaughtered the trout. I'm blaming it on his Texas set up with no troll motor. HOW IN THE HECK do you fish without a troll motor? :-) Brought the camera but forgot to take some pictures. Bigdog has some though I'm sure he will post next week.

Nice looking pics Jason.
I agree we need more fishing info.

I interviewed Tim Horton lastnight and put together a small article about Summer time fishing.

What are a few of you-alls summer time tips?

I spent last Saturday on Lake Eufaula in central Oklahoma. I was looking for deep water structure. The key seemed to be finding drops in 8 to 15 feet of water that fell off to deep water quickly. Best fish was a 5 1/2 but spent most of the time looking at the graph. Baits were Bomber Fat Free Shad, football head jig and C-rig.

Heading to a lake this weekend but it will be more work-time than play-time.

I fished a club tournament last weekend at Mcgee Creek in Oklahoma. I thought I had a bad day with 2 fish, but they were big enough to get me 2nd place and big bass. I hate post spawn fishing. Now it's time to start night fishing.

I doubt it. I usually crumble under the pressure in the fall. This year has been strange. I feel like I'm fishing better than last year but haven't won a tournament yet. Consistancy is the plan for now. When's your next tournament?

My next one is on Richland Chambers on June 11th. I have not been on that lake in 12 years at least and have no clue where to start. I hope to pre-fish for 2 days before the tournament and eliminate a lot of water.
