Connie had the idea to head to the lake this evening and see if we could pick up enough fish for a fry this weekend. Unfortunately, that wind switch to the north messed up my plans. There is an island mid lake on Lavon that in post spawn for the sand bass usually boils with surface activity in the evenings because the wind blows everything up to the shoreline.

We went there anyway and worked slabs around the edges and picked up several short fish and 6 keeper sandbass. It was getting dark and I hooked into something much nicer...

We fished till dark and drank a few cold beers on the water relaxing. Some local ducks came out to visit and the girls had a blast feeding them cheetos. :-)

All in all, we accomplished the goal of bringing home enough fish for a family fry this weekend and I have the fish on ice to be cleaned tomorrow. Sorry about the picture quality, I am using my new laptop and I have not installed any good image editing software yet. I have a copy of photoshop to load on it but too lazy to do it tonight.

The girls and I may just wake up in the morning and hit the lake again to try and add to the cooler so that the knife gets a fair workout... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Thanks everyone...

We went out this morning -- a little later than I had planned :-) -- but the fish did not work with me. We did manage 4 more keeper sandies and several unders between the girls and I. Now I have to go clean these fish. Thank goodness there are not too many of them like Bigun brings home.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

We had an 8 boat charter trip Friday for a very large group of people. We had 748 speckle trout caught Friday. Even I limited out on the beach. :-) We had 7 boats go out Sat. Not nearly as good of fishing though. I went from hero to zero Saturday fishing same spots and could not buy a bite with a total of 7 trout and 2 reds caught. I went west and 4 of the boats went east and two other went redfishing. One of the boats that went East limited on his 100 very quickly on croacker which no one else had. The other boats that went east caught a bunch of small fish but ended up putting some numbers together but nothing like the day before. Probably had about 400 trout total. The redfishing boats limited but fished until 3 pm or so.

Big Daddy wore them OUT! Congrats Wade!

Lot of work if the clients don't bait, cast or do squat. Surprised they even made it back into the dock :-)
