I may have to lean on one of these soon. Guess I have to baby these dudes on the sand since they don't field clean too easily.

I'm going to build a custom St Croix 7ft graphite and need a SF reel.

Curados aren't the best for Saltwater. the person who cleans my reels in SA says that the Abu Garcias hold up much better in the salt, but can't touch the curados in performance.

thinking of buying one soon. Wish I would of know this last week. Just bought one to go on the custom 7 1/2' St. Croix rod I bought for my best friends bachelor party. Mine cost $199 at Academy.

Thats what concerns me Will. The MG model is even more worse around salt and some are wading with these reels.

I snagged a ABU Record (6 bearings) and a 13lb test sustained drag. Only other baitcaster with a stronger drag is the 450+ dollar Shimano (17lbs). I'm casting 10lb test so my Record is set for hard fights with enough line to not spool. The Curado may push it's limits on some of the stuff I hook along PINS.

I've had guys tell me go braid, top shot mono and fish the Curado. Little do these guys know they need Fuji SIC guides to save the rings over the long haul. A 15-20lb jackfish will make your line run like it hasn't run before. :-)
