Was pre-fishing today and went into a little pocket on the N side of the lake and fished for about 15 minutes. This little cut is no more than 20' wide and 50' deep. As soon as I got to the back, some old man kicked open his screen door and started yelling that it was time for me to go. Funny thing is, he kicked the door so hard it slammed back in his face before he got the words out. He came out yelling saying that he had the pocket dug out and it was his. He baits the fish so I have no right to them. He kept telling me to leave and asking for my boat numbers. I just told him to come get them if he wanted them. He sulked off inside and then came out with pad and paper in hand and wrote down my info. I was as polite as I could be because I'm not going to let some looney old man ruin my day, but he just wasn't having it. After I caught a perch off his dock, I left. He asked me "does this look like it's part of the lake?" Sky's blue, water's wet...looks like part of the lake to me. He's about 55 years old, 5'9" tall, 180-200 lbs, long white scraggly hair....and maybe a twitch in his eye. Any time you're out at Bonham and get a chance, pitch a few times in that cut and see what kind of reaction you get.

I think you ran across the same guy Charles encountered out there. I am going to have to go find that cut and remind him that harrassing fishermen is against the law. :-)

I bet he was more upset about the screen door smackin himself than you fishing back there...

Other than the cranky feller, how was the fishing? How are you liking your BassCat?
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Fishing was decent. Caught maybe 15 or so but only 4 keepers. Got a tournament there next weekend. My first time on the lake. It is a great looking lake. I missed the early morning bite but the late morning and afternoon bite was not too bad.

BassCat is running good. I am so happy to have my own boat.

Sounds like a the old man needs to study his boundry lines on his property. Don't know if I would have been so friendly back.

That's crazy. Somehow I've never seen this guy in all the times I've fished that lake. I'm going to try and find the spot next time I'm over there.
