Took my son out Monday - since the ocean is soooooo calm.. We had a great day! Short on pics though as my hands were full being a servant all day - baiting hooks, casting, taking fish off, etc... I wanted Matthew to have an exceptionally good day since he does not like to go fishing. This day was for him! We get to the ramp around 10:30 AM and I dropped the boat in the water at Freeport and parked the truck. When I get to the ramp Matt asked "did you put the plug in?" - dangit... I tried to turn the boat to acess the back to put the plug in but it was too deep - - off with the shirt and unload the pockets and fixed the problem.. Climbed on board and headed out. When we got to the end of the jetty I remembered my shoes and sox are still at the ramp!!! Oh Well - i thought - today is going to be one of those days - take my time, be extra carefull, and think ahead carefully. Forget the shoes - we're going! Headed out oblivious to any particular spot - just go rig hopping and see what we find. When we got to the first rig we did good - as far as action goes. First fish was a black tip about 3.5 - 4ft. I told Matt that this is GOOD TABLE FARE! He responded with "Your so mean - Poor thing thinks he is getting a meal and etc....." I thought - well this is a day for Matt so we will let them go - and we did. Next was a King fish about 5-10lbs. Matt got to catch this one also. He said this one was ugly and I could keep it if I wanted - just not the sharks.. I let it go - today was to be a catch and release day only. Then we cought a few more Black Tip with 2 of them being about 5ft ea. I di take a few pics as follows but they are not very good. After about 1/2 hour hustling I did not feel like taking any more pictures.. We hopped from rig to rig and ended up catch and release keeper snapper, king fish, and shark. Kingfish were the hit of the day for me having hooked and boated at least - minimum 20... and the sharks were the highlite for Matt. We cought at least 15 or so sharks - I sure hated letting the big black tips go... When it was all said and done it was pleasing to hear him say he had a good time.. All In A Days Fun!!!

That is what it is all about Dean. Great job. Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

I'm glad to hear that Matt had a good time on that trip -- how could you not enjoy catching those fish... Great job Dean getting him out there and catching some great fish. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
