Media Bass whacked the fish on Saturday bringin in 8 limits over 20 pounds and it took almost 25 pounds for first place out of 44 teams I believe. The Bassmaster Weekend Series had 68 boats on Sunday and it took less than 20 pounds to walk away with first place. Pictures to come later. I am at my mother in law's now having a birthday party for my youngest daughter (still an hour from the house). If I make it home tonight, I will get the pictures up and give you the "rest of the story". Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

That's not right right there! Give us part of a story and then run. Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

I finished 11th out of 63 and got a check. Oz managed to catch a fish this tournament and it was the right one... He landed an 8-14 hawg and took Big Bass honors and a check to boot. My co-angler also got a check yesterday for 14th place so we were both pleased... That is the short version. I'll post a few pictures as proof... Yesterday's finish catapoulted me up in the standings. I was sitting in 43rd and now I am 31st. I think there is a really good shot that I will make the championship. I just need to weigh in a decent sack of fish on Cedar Creek and I should be in the top 30 and on my way to the regional championship. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Man, just think if someone who actually knew how to catch fish entered one of these things! Joking guys. Great going Picou and Oz. Way to represent. Was it enough to cover the gas burnt? Man O Man... Looks like I have a shot at the Monster Bass Challange on El Salto in Mexico for catching that whopper!! The sad part is I couldn't get any thing to keep her company all day heck I couldn't even get a hat mounter. PQ is right that one fish was the right fish! I'll be crossing my fingers waiting to see what happens at Cerdar Creek. Thanks for the Cudos... PS: PQ ROCKS!!! OzzieFish "In GOD I trust"

Getting ready on Saturday: It was a good feeling to come to weigh in with some fish and a decent kicker. I had no idea I was close to the money until I heard my name in 10th place. I spent a lot of time on the water Friday afternoon and Saturday and narrowed it down to 4 spots that I would spend my time on Sunday. It payed off because we caught fish in 3 of the 4 spots. One of those spots was a risky bet because it was the far North East side of the dam and a long boat ride. This spot was not only a long run, but it was a very specific peice of structure about 12' x 10' total. Two huge concrete pipes laying on the bottom in 8 foot of water side by side next to 30' of water. I pulled the 6.5 pounder and a solid 16" fish from that structure and missed some small bites. My non boater missed a fish there also. Once the perch bites quit, I tried 5 different soft plastics, a crankbait, and a chatterbait to no avail so we went to my last spot and managed 2 more keepers and a few short fish. I lost one on that last point and missed another one. I probably should have weighed a limit but I did not capitalize on a few opportunities -- broke one off on the hookset first thing in the morning on a split-shot. My non-boater caught one on a chatterbait and two on a CR watermelon/red baby brush hog (one was short). I boated 1 keeper on a chatterbait, two keepers on split-shot watermelon/red baby b-hog, and my last keeper (and short fish) came on the CR baby brush hog. I'm telling you guys, this lake has some fish with some muscle on them. That 6.5 was ripping drag on 12 pound test and had my 6' St. Croix (that Wes bought me) bent hard. When she came up and showed herself in that clear water I almost wet myself (as did my non boater). I thought she was 8+ when I first saw her. Once she was in my $7.95 net that everyone teased me about I got a serious case of the shakes. It was BASS FEVER... A good kicker fish sure gets the blood pumping in a tournament. I can only imagine Ozzie when he boated that 8 pounder -- WOW!!! My 6.5 pound fish: I learned some more things this weekend that I can hopefully apply in future tournaments and best of all......... I GOT A CHECK!!!!!!!!! Chris McDowell who went into this event leading the points race as a non-boater was my room mate for the weekend and he once again got a check and maintained his first place point standings overall. Chris was on some good fish while pre-fishing and was undecided on switching over to the boater side. Looks to me that he made the right choice... Way to go Chris! Chris collecting his check: Oz.. YOU ROCK DUDE!!!! You may have only caught one fish this go round but you did it right bud! I hope that fish takes you all the way to Mexico brutha!!!! I honestly had thoughts about my fish possibly being big bass (I assumed she was 7 pounds once she was in the live well), but when I met up with you at check-in I lost all hope... Richard getting his plaque and check: Me getting my check: I had a great time this weekend and got to hang out with some great people. My non-boater (Paul Grove) was an absolute blast in the boat and did an excellent job netting my fish. He knew the game and was cheering me on to finish out my limit over an above his because of the shared weight. I'm elated that he was able to get his first fish to weigh in for the series and got a check out of the deal to boot. Good fisherman and good company! The previous weekend he also got a check fishing the BFL I believe as a co-angler -- Great job Paul... I'm very pleased with my performance and hope to do better in the next one and make it to the regional championships. Anyone want to put me on some fish at Cedar Creek... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Great to see you over here Chris... I'm up for some CC pre-fishing. I need to figure out when I can get away. I definately need the time on the water over there... Although, looking at the stats and who has fished all 3 events so far, the second chance event will probably only include 20 boaters from our division. A couple of the other divisions may not even send anyone to the 2nd chance event. My luck I make it to the regionals and have to fish against 150 for the top 8 places and those who fish the second chance event only have to face 60 other anglers for a top 8 place. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
