What a wonderful weekend spent with Wade "BigUn Charters" Henry! Thank you amigo!

Drake and I rolled with our son's Austin Zabroky and Cody Shurley to experience a fishing trip in the Dularge Bayou region of South East Louisiana.

We launch from Dularge in the midst of other's who venture seriously into angling opportunities along the Louisiana coastline.

Wade's new boat is one heck of a fishing machine. Plenty of room, fast and dry.

Our camp is Ed "Brother" King's barge/house vessel moored on the Dularge Bayou deep in Cajun country.

Right to left, Ed "Brother" King and his Cajun fishing partner David, both from Houma Louisiana.

Our first day starts with easy goals to beat.

Fishing under the birds in open water hoping for trout ends up needing a shave. Austin lands a gafftopsail catfish working metal.

Redfish mid-late afternoon on our first day is done chasing redfish along a wind blown shoreline.

As we work the shoreline, the scenes of Back Country life in Louisiana entertain the mind with scenes only found deep in the marsh.

The heat was on and the redfish bite was late afternoon on a high - falling tide.

Wade absolutely whipped up some outstanding chow! Fresh fish baked, fried and served with a quick pile of Oh Brother camp caught blue claw crabs.

The second day is spent chasing speckled trout near the Gulf of Mexico.

Ed's close friend Julio shows the true meaning of a good day fishing Back Country Dularge.

Bayou boat traffic parade by camp.

And neighbor families fish showing our next generation what "good times" can be had enjoying Cajun Backcountry.

Good times with Outstanding folks.....AAAAIIIIIEEEEEE!

Rob, Drake, Austin, and Cody were an absolute blast to have around all weekend. It kind of makes you wake up and realize what we have down here when someone is experiencing for the first time the awesome fishing estuaries we have. While we caught fish, the fishing was not quite up to normal for this time of year. A very slow morning bite on the rising tide combined with the quick heat from the rising fireball really tested how bad you wanted to actually be fishing Friday and the lightning & rain storms really gave us a run for our money most of the day Saturday.
How did I know there would be a picture of Julio stuck in Rob's thread somewhere?

:-) Yeah Ed seemed a little more lively on Saturday evening than normal LOL!

Oz I use a pair of different cameras. A Kodak DX4900 (4.1 mp) point and shoot that sees rough treatment.

Canon D350 Digital Rebel XT (8.1 mp) with several different lenses. Used for long range shots or wide angle work.

Excellent recap on what looks like one heck of a weekend. The food, the fish, the fun!!! What a time is to be had down in the bayou. I bet they are beggin for a return trip already. That there looks worth giving up a couple of deer hunts for a fall trip to the home land.

Great report, excellent pictures, and great job Bigun puttin them on fish.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
