Spent this weekend runnning from the rain on Fork this weekend with my cousin and his son. The fish were not that kind to us but we still enjoyed ourselves. The highlite of the trip was Sat. afternoon when a thunderstorm rolled through and made all the hair on my neck and arms stand up and also made our fishing rods hum like a transformer. Very scary. We dropped everything and ran to the closest boat house and stayed it out. The owner was kind enough to offer us into his home if it got too bad under his covered dock, very nice. Found a really nice spot on the lake for prespawn and spawn to try out next spring, the water is about 3 1/2 feet low.

Lake Fork is one of the nastiest lakes I've ever fished on as far as just storms popping up on you due to can't see them coming and lightening crashing the party! Man, I've been scared on that lake quite a few times and only fished it one week a year.
Quit being a mad, little bald man!

I've had one too many scares on that lake. Not sure why it always seems worse out there but it certianly does... Glad you made it in safe and still had a good time.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Fork has taken a few over the years so the Good Lord was your shepherd that day... My dock is always open to folks if there in trouble but right now you can't get to it with the water being low.
