A church friend got us access to a private pond about 5 miles from the house that was historically a home for some monster bass. We waisted no time making a run out there and I had a great time. I brought the camera but we were always fishing too far apart to snap pics.

We got there shortly after 7:00pm and after a few casts with the split-shot I opted for the frog bite to help build my confidence in the bait. First cast out with the chart/white ribbit resulted in a massive explosion and the first fish on. The shorline was littlered with pads and this fish stuck me in them and I had to break off 20 lb line. I moved to a more clear area and within 2 more casts I had another fish on -- maybe a pound. I proceeded to catch another 5 on the ribbit and started to feel bad for the others that were fishing with us and offered them a bait. I moved around the tank and caught 7 or 8 total on the ribbit and missed at least 5 more. I finally lost my last frog and decided to go with the fluke on my split-shot rod. First cast resulted in a long distance hookup that was a ball getting him back to the shore. These fish were so aggressive that I had to cut the line 3 times even though I was setting the hook immediately after watching the swell blow up on the moving fluke. I ended up catching 15 or 16 fish in the 1.5 hours we fished and had a great time.

Nothing bigger than maybe 2.5 pounds but they were fun and I can't wait to go back and do it all again. The tank is really low and the grass was to the surface for probably 70% of the water. I knew the frog was a good bet and the fluke I basically kept it moving just under the surface. I could see the fish charging the bait... Too much fun for a weekday.... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Man that had to be rough. lol Get you some braid. I've never fished with it but from what I hear it is a must for frog fishing.

I'm glad you had fun but a little dissapointed in how the pics turned out.

No pictures so I don't believe you. PQ is to embarrassed to admit he can't catch fish in a stocked tank! :-)

J/K, Great times.

I know, I know... I let ya' down on the pictures.

Why is it that Bigun never takes pics but is not harrassed, I for-go pics one time and am chastized... :-)

Oh... I know... It's expected of me to provide images with my compositions but when it comes to Bigun... ...we are pleased that he can figure out the composition part!!!

I'll do better next time -- I promise...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

The wife and I went down on the pier at our house this evening. A few days ago She caught a bass that weighed in excess of 10 lbs. No camera. Took one this evening and she out done me again. Using the "do nothing worms".
