I am oh so ready for this to get here. I cannot wait to hit the beach and relax. Of course, I will be doing some fishing and a lot of cooking fresh seafood.

We will spend a couple of days in Houston before heading to West Beach Galveston. We are meeting at Dean's house on Friday for some grilled fish and family time. Sunday we head to the beach for 7 days of vacation.

I hope the water clears up and the fish cooperate but even if they do not we will be fine -- the beer will be cold :-) ...

It will be 100 degree days up here during the week but the highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s on the beach. I will not have the ideal fishing conditions but I will manage. No matter what the winds and the water conditions, we will still have fun!

Look for updates from the beach if I have access to the internet from the beach house as I did last year. They may just be family or pictures but there will be pictures none the less...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

It must be nice to be non-essential enough to get a vacation. I'm raising three kids and working two jobs and I don't ever get to go nowhere!

You guys have a great time. I have a feeling we will have some pictures for you also come the end of next weekend when I get a visit from a couple of REAL Texas friends.

Bigun, leave poor Mike alone. Being non-essential is hard work. Besides, one of your jobs is taking people fishing. How tough can that be?? Also, we've seen pics and heard stories about your little ones. You probbaly have to pay them to hang around you....lol

I leave for Cabo in a week. Summertime is fun time...

poor Mikey - He seems to be forgotten on this thread - - Maybe I will have an opportunity to show Mike some fish. I know a few holes only accessable by boat that might hold some decent water - maybe - if Mike is NICE to me and brings plenty of beer :-)

Check this one -

I just cannot believe the harrassment I get from ya'll...

I'm sitting on the porch at Dean's place right now drinking a cold beer nibbling on sausage and grilled ling for snacks. We are havin some surf & turf for dinner.

Got my new topper installed today, picked up my new signage for the truck, and just talked to a guy who wants me to build him a new website -- life is good... :-)

Ya'll tease all you want, I know it is just jealousy... :-)

I must admit, Dean has plenty of beer here and I have not had to bring any of it. We are also grilling his Mahi-Mahi along with some steaks... I am getting off easy... :-)

BTW: The ling is great and the beer is very cold...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Also a guy was looking for help with a site on TRB. Sounds like a good day at the Picou households. Good thing to hear Dean is not a tightwad like his brother!

On the contrary - I fed him and his entire family Choice Cut Griled Sirloin, Grilled Ling, Grilled Dorado, Sausage, Fries, Salad, and Cake for desert. Forgot to mention - they did not even drink all of the beer I iced down for them!! Of all the nerve ----

I'll bet Wade wouldn't have left with 25 beers left to consume...

Oh Yea - and I got to escort Mike around to take care of his business as well.. I don't think we got to start cooking until after 6pm??

I guess ya might say - Mike owes me now :-)

:-) HONESTLY - It was a real pleasure to have Mike and his family visit. We enjoyed the time we had together and wish we could do it more often. His kids are very well mannered and he and Connie are fun to converse with. Now we need to get Mike to get in the pool and participate in the vollyball games :-)

Looks like fun. Dean, you sound like a great host.

Had a great time Dean and thanks again for running me all over north Houston to take care of the truck stuff. That was a long afternoon of sitting in traffic. Sorry that I didn't drink more of your beer but I had plenty. The food was great and Connie & kids had a wonderful time swimming.

We have almost finished grandma's birthday cake and she had the fish with lunch today while we all at home made shrimp jambalaya. For dinner we had roast & rice... yummmmmmy...

Vacation has started right with great food and fellowship with family. I still have a week to go and I cannot wait to hit the coast and start fishing... :-)

We are in the house and heading out onto the beach now that the trucks are unpacked. I have some pictures but the kids are riding my rear to get in the water... :-)

The dial-up here is about 26k so I may take it easy on the pics this year but only time will tell... :-)
