Well, we made it to the beach with no problems and got settled in. The surf is very dirty and the winds are pretty strong keeping the surf churned up. The kids were very eager to get onto the beach and into the surf. After a great dinner of seafood skewers my brother-in-law and I headed out to SLP to see if we could find some flounder. We walked for a couple hours and were only able to come up with one small flounder that was not worth the sharp stick. We left the pass and headed to a friend's place that has lights on the bay. My first cast resulted in a 15 1/8" speck and I thought we were going to be in for some good fishing. Well, that ended up being the only keeper all night although we steadily caught fish till 3:00am. A couple of them were close but just could not stretch them over the limit. I slept in this morning and will make a decision on what to do tonight. I am going to look at the tide and see if giggin will be worth it or not and maybe only trout fish for a few hours. I really want to make it out for a morning wade so I need to get back into the house before midnight. Hopefully we can get some stable weather and the fish will cooperate. There are storms rolling in and out all around us and the wind is still strong today. No matter what the fishing does, we will still have great food, cold beer, and a great time. Stay tuned, hopefully I can bring some fish pics tomorrow. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Looks like good times PQ! Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

Mike a sure way to be there for a morning wade is to stay out all night. You probably wouldn't be much fun for the rest of the day though. Thanks for taking time out of yur vacation to keep us up to date. BassZone.com

The gulf does look a little off but not too bad. How is the bay? Fresh? Muddy? With all of the rain we recently had I can only imagine it to be "off". Mike - Take Connie and the kids to the strand - and shopping on the sea wall. Take advantage of this opportunity to create memories. Schlitterbaun would be unforgettable for the kids and after 3 or so you can get in for a discounted rate. Moody Gardens is not the most exciting thing in the world but we still find pleasure in going there every now and then. As soon as I get my boat out of the shop I would like to take you fishing on a sunset trip with the lights. See if I can put some 20+in trout in your box - and maybe some Reds. Fishing will be mediokra at best under the current conditions. Big trout are on the gulf side, not in the bay. They like the green water and know how to find it. You probably have a better chance of catching good size fish like Rob does... Big Red doesnt mind a sandy surf. Good Luck and Keep us posted! Dont forget to check the little spot I told you about - use live shrimp - free line - hook only! Watch your string after each catch for damage/freying. When a bigger one hits you do not want to lose it. Time is not your enemy under the lights - They spook pretty easy - especially the bigger ones. (now watch - Mike is going to prove everything I said wrong....) All In A Days Fun!!!
