Had another great day with the family. We played in the surf, played in the sand, and just had a good time. We started dinner earlier on day 2 -- steaks & potatoes... Comin along just fine... Spirits were high and everyone is really enjoying themselves. My wife and I My wife, her sisters, and brother-in-law Dinner was delicious and as I inhaled my homemade brownie for desert I could see the sun still plenty high enough for me to get in a quick afternoon wade in the bay. My brother-in-law was not interested in the wade fishing prospect so we agreed that I would wade and then come back to pick him up for some night fishing under the lights. I got to the spot and pulled out my rod, some extra soft plastics, and headed into the water. I got about 50 yards into the water and realized I forgot my stringer. I thought to myself, oh well... ...I probably will not catch any keepers anyway... I was wrong because about 5 casts after having this thought my red/white bull minnow was hammered and I was reeling in my first flounder for the vacation. I had to wade back to the truck, get my stringer, and get back into the water quick. I got back to the area I caught that fish and was hammered again but I missed this one. I continued fishing this area with the red/white soft plastic and ended up catching another keeper flounder. This fish hit my lure no more than 10 feet from me and I guess was still charged because I could not get a grip on it and decided to string it on the hook through the gills. I untied the stringer from my waist and got the stringer almost through the gill when it thrashed and ripped free of the hook -- D*@mnit!!! Oh well. I finished wading into the falling sun and made my way back to the truck to pick up Buddy (brother-in-law). Of course, nobody believed me that I had a keeper so I pulled it out of the ice chest to show everyone. My wading flounder Buddy and I took of to the Sea Isle pier in hopes of catching a few keepers or worst case, a mess of decent sand trout -- they are depending on me for fried fish this week... We fished the pier for a couple hours with a lot of small trout and sand trout caught. My friend with the bay house rental was out there with his kids and we could see them fishing. We decided to go see them and spend some time under those lights. We arrived over there and they had caught a couple of keeper trout and some decent sand trout as well so we pulled out the rods and joined in on the fun. We caught fish all night long -- litteraly. Steve's kids went to bed about 1:30am and Steve was quick to follow. Buddy and I ended up fishing till 6:00am and although we were catching fish all night 80% of them were 12" - 14", we did manage a couple over 15" for the ice chest and a couple of sand trout. I also managed to catch one flounder under the lights as well. I had tossed one sand trout in the ice chest that was apparently a lot smaller than I wanted but it still made 2 fillets... Also, in these last couple of years that Buddy has gone fishing with me -- he is not a serious fisherman -- he had never contributed to the fish frys. The goal this year was for him to catch a keeper and I can proudly admit that this year we accomplished our goal.. Our all night keep I considered going out for the morning wade and there was a storm brewing to the NE with a lot of lightning so I opted for a shower and a nap as the sun rose. I figure I will get another evening wade in today and then a decent nights sleep and hit the morning wade. We are due for a crabbing trip and I need to take the kids fishing also. Not sure what the rest of the day has in store today but one thing is for sure... We are at the beach and having a great time. The fishing is less than stellar, the surf is dirty and high, but we are here as a family and having a great vacation so far. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Great Job Buddy! Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.
