Irving Bass Club is heading to Bonham on the 19th & 20th. They have asked me to speak at the club meeting tonight about the lake so here I am asking you...I haven't been on the lake in a long time so can anyone tell how the lake level is and if the reeds are underwater etc...? Just a little help here is all I'm asking for... Thanks in advance, cause I know you'll come through for me :-)

Oz,

I looked up the water level for you. It appears to be 21/2 feet low.

I haven't been out there in about four or five months so I don't know about the reeds or what is working and whats not.

Just remeber when your speaking to imagine everybody is naked. I always heard that helps with stage fright:-)

All I can tell you is the lake is around 2 feet low and the crappie are biting good. Haven't bass fished over there in a couple of months. You could catch fish in the lilly pads then but with the water level dropping that is probably out the window. probably not many reeds in the water either. might suggest flipping the deeper docks. wish i was more help.

Besides you should not be giving out the correct information if you are fishing it! Send them all to the reeds! LMAO :-)

I went to the lake Saturday to do a pre-fishing and the reeds are really shallow right now. It was hard to find any water with over 2ft on them. I did find some keepers roaming around so thats good. My best was a 5.15lbs. On a crank bait (PQ keep it closed...) We'll see what happens this weekend :-)

Good luck. I heard they've been biting. I need to get back over there and check them out.

Well, I wished I did better but I did OK. I ended up with 8 fish for 16.05lbs for the weekend. We had one club memeber sit on a off shore spot and catch 30lbs for the weekend. I may have finished in thrid place. I had a hard time locating fish on Sunday. I guess IU should have fished off shore more... I did pull a Denny Brauer in the reeds on a 3lber with a jig that was fun. I had to head in for the catch and lip him, that was fun!! I was looking all around for the camera boat but never saw one..........:-)

That sounds very respectable for this time of year Oz. Some of the locals on that lake can sit on their offshore honey holes and pull 18 lb stringers in a 3 hour tournament. Congrats on the top 3 finish.

Mark is right about the locals and their summer spots producing. I need to get me a couple of them when the water starts to boil. Congrats on your stringer I'd take that for 2 days this time of year on Bonham.
