We will have to keep an eye on this one and see if it is overturned. I would like to know more about the specific location and other things around the arrests but definately the final ruling has set a precidence that is bad for all sportsmen.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

My understanding is that these people were on the normally dry privately owned land which due to high water was flooded by the Miss River and they tried to convict them for trespassing. Owner did not want them on it claiming their intent was to hunt on it. It's all about property rights. Nothing new for La law.

Gotta love the 1812 law cited which allows people to own complete watercovered erroded land. This is what all the fighting was about at the Bassmaster Classic when that one fisherman got shot at and several of them got run off by airboats and why the Redfish tour's are considering not having as many tourney's in La. You are "trespassing" anywhere you redfish typically.
