My club has had a couple of months off during the heat wave but it's time to get back into the last half of the season. I'll be fishing Monday on Texoma. Hopefully the rain will not make it too dificult. I'm seeing reports where the small ones are biting but the keepers might be hard to come by. Hopefully I'll have a good report next week. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

I haven't heard for sure but I think I finished in 3rd place. Had a small limit for 8+lbs. I may have gotten big bass with one close to 2 1/2 lbs. The tournament start off good with a solid keeper on my second cast. After that it got tough. I lost a nice keeper on spinning gear. That's why I hate light tackle. I then had a nice bass follow a worm to the boat. As I was realing up I saw him flash at my bait. I wasn't having much luck with the largemouth so I went after the spots and managed to get them on topwaters around some of the boathouses in the bluffs area. Ended up catching a lot of fish but they were mostly small ones and for every bass there was 2 stripers. After this I ran to a boathouse with a brushpile in it and managed my big fish. All in all it was a successful tournament considering how little I've been fishing lately. Hopefully I can keep it up through the end of the year. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

Way to go Tex. Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

Look at this way, without that light line you might not have hooked that fish. Congrats on 3rd. |

You Suck! I started out the same, had one keeper 15 minutes into it and then couldn't keep the little ones off. Picked up my second keeper, a 1.71lb spot, with only 15 minutes left flippin a white tube on the tires. 3.16 total for two fish but it was better than a goose egg. I have yet to figure out this lake. |

It's easy Dave, just take every lucky thing you own with you and hope for the best. If I hadn't of gotten into the spots I would have had the same stringer as you. I have to admit it was fun catching topwater fish at 11:00 in the morning. No telling what it was like when there was still shade on the water. I'm going camping at west burns run this weekend. I hope to get back over there one morning and see what it's like. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related.
