Houstonian's Kale and Clay came down with their father Harry who lives on Lake Livingston. I'll be darn if I can remember their last name though. Kale and Clay surprised their father with this trip by including three former friends he used to work with. Mr. Harry had never done this much redfishing and really was looking forward to catching speckle trout. Unfortunately the trout still have not worked their way into the marsh. But I think we converted him quickly and now have a redfishing junkie on our hands!

We fished Friday morning and absolutely spanked the redfish with Gerald and myself easily limiting out by 9 am. We went try some holes for trout but no serious action was found. We caught and released Friday afternoon with Gerald catching his 15 but I was not nearly as lucky with my fish disappearing on me catching around 8 and missing some.

Woke up Sat AM to another redfish slaughter with easy limits. Well the guys decided they just would not have enough room on their Cessna to fly back six people and more fish so all but 8 for lunch were caught and released. Caught and released limits plus Sat afternoon.

Sunday morning was just absolute redfish slaughter with packs of reds cruising a pond banging mullet all over. Clay and Kale both started catching them on buzzbaits and just could not believe the action. And they still got on their plane by 11 am! :-)

I think they had a great time considering all they could do was thank us for the experience and talk about how much fun was had. Sorry forgot the camera but did not have much time to take pictures anyway in between netting and unhooking fish.

You are the man Wade. Why don't you save yourself some key strokes and put the "I forgot the camera..." in your signature. :-)

Excellent recap and great job as always. Keep it up.

Good idea Dru! The main reason is I keep forgetting to charge the dang batteries.

Sounds like a great time in the back waters of South Louisiana... Ya' gotta love it when the reds are smackin buzz baits. I can only imagine that excitemnt.

I think you need to re-org the sig and put that camera line on top... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
