Thought I'd give a little report on the conditions and fishing at Lake Lavon. I live only minutes from Lavon and have always considered it a mud hole. It has good quality fish but is a tough lake to consistantly catch fish. With the lake being 15'+ below normal pool level I've been spending a great deal of time scouting the lake marking potential good structure that would take years to find. I have found ridges, humps, sunken cars and boats, trees lines, well defined break lines and yada yada yada. My ultimate goal is to sink brush piles on these spots when the lake returns to normal pool level. Now to a fishing report. I went out Tuesday evening for a few hours (I'm digging the nice weather) second cast caught a 6lber on a tree line in 4' of water (never knew the tree line was there, it's normally a few feet under water) three cast later I caught a 5lber. A few cast later a "solid" fish hammered my hardbait and snapped my line, wasn't able to turn the fish. I continued to work this tree line three more times with my hard bait and cuaght less fish with each pass. I switched to a TX-rig and started to flip into the trees to pick up the stubborn stragglers. I caught a few more on the TX-rig but not near the quality of the previous fish. In total I caught nine fish in a matter of an hour and a half. For Lavon I consider this an excellent trip. |

Good times indeed Charles. Don't let that bald guy get to you about the camera! Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic. I forgot the CAMERA!
