I’m attaching a post from another site because I believe we all need to know what's at stake here. This is in regards to the Little Rock Amy Corps law restricting fishing in marinas. This issue needs our attention as fisherman otherwise this type of action will be on our doorstep next if we don’t get involved. I try to keep the site up to date on whats being done to combat this problem. See the "Bass Times" article if you have one.

By Tim Cline
I just read in my BASS Times that the Little Rock District of the Army Corp has said no fishing in Marina's. Now I bet that does not apply to slip renters. Unfair! I all so bet with in the next year the same thing happens on Texoma and all Lakes in the Tulsa District. The thing is there is no real law that you can break buy fishing inside these so called no-fishing areas. Then the issue in LA. about the backwaters and such. If people like us on these forum do not act and fight we will run out of places to fish. All of you that said oh it can not happen well it has and it is going to continue unless we all join together and fight.

Another thing were is FLW and Irwin Jacobs on this matter. FLW and BASS should fight this together BASS and already said they will fight this all the way to the supreme court if need be. I have not looked on the FLW site today to see if they are working on this and if they are I apologise. I have not seen FLW lift one finger yet. I hope they will soon.

I think if every angler on this site and all of the affiliated bass clubs called Kay Bailey and John Cornings(sp) office on the same day we might here something from them on this matter.
IF we could decide on a day this week to call and or e-mail both Senators and complain about our rights. Be sure and let them know there are more of us non-marina owners than marina owners.
I have tried to get people going before on this issue with some limited support.

Guys, I read the articles in this month’s issue of Bass Time and I’m here to tell you the ball is rolling in our direction and it’s not good news. Basically fisherman will be prohibited from fish within 50ft of marinas on all Army Corp Lakes in Texas! It starts with Marina and next to boat dock and why not there private property too just like a marina!! There is a push from fisherman on all the forums to call government reps and a letter that will be issued to sign. I’ll do my best to keep you informed. If you can get your hands on the Bass Times take a look. BASS is fighting these decisions by judges in LA, AR, & TN.

All this tee me off...

I feel your pain - And imagine they are talking about restricting recreational fishermen to 2 snapper and an open season for snapper from August 21 to October 31..

What is happening here - The recreational fishing industry could experience a significant impact if these things keep going in these directions - after all - we fish to catch fish - feed our families - and have a good time doing it - it is getting to where there are so many restrictions and laws that we will have toi fish with Lawyers specially trained in the laws to keep us out of trouble!!!

It is really crazy!
All In A Days Fun!!!
