I spoke with Mike briefly last night. I asked him how the fishing was and he responded "river fishing sucks". I think he said he caught three barely keepers.

I talked to Mike last night. Things are not going well for him. He was on the way to pick his trolling motor up, he shattered the shaft on it thursday during the tournament. It sounded like he would be coming back tonight unless he had one hell of a day today. Oz weighed in 2 fish I think yesterday.

I don't know why I had faith! You better stick to hunting Mike.

I'm sure it was very rough out there with the front and wind. Congrats to you both for just going.

I was hoping to do exactly that Tex in order to feel what a real bass feels like on the end of the line. :-) Looks like there is too much going on for me to make that happen now that I am home -- it never ends...

I hooked a bunch of flying fish I can tell you that. They were so small that when you set the hook they would fly right past your head :-)

Or come fish in La Picou where any idiot can catch fish! Oh that's right you were in LA!

Despite not being in Kansas it was a great morning. 25 fat trout and about 15 culled redfish by 8:15 am. I rode around for about 30-40 minutes checking out duck ponds (no ducks by the way), cleaned 30 fish, had to pick up Caroline from school due to ill, and cooked already!

This was after giving two full quart bags away and what I cooked!

I did not forget the camera this morning however the dang batteries were dead! Ooooohhhhhhh!

That would be me Oz! :-)

Back at the trout/redfish slaughter this morning except I took some pictures. Got to the spot but the tide was not moving like it was yesterday but the fish was still there. This is suppose to be a picture of the trout pounding bait on the water but obviously there was still not enough light. You can see a few if look hard in the mid left side!

We had our fifty trout limit by 7:50 am but it was not nearly as fast or as nice of fish as the day before! But whose complaining.

Decided to go run to a pond I saw a bunch of redfish in the day before. There were more reds down there than you can shake a stick at!!! Had our limit of reds before 8:50 and that was only because we released a few being too big for what I wanted to eat and lost several.

Can't complain about a thing today except my newer ABU record acting up! Initially started off not wanting to engage after throwing but that fixed itself and then just kept backlashing. I guess a cleaning is in the future!

Sat evening finds another 50 trout day here in S La despite blistering winds and a knock down in the temperature. Actually had to fish until noon today for them though. Reds were scarce. I think I'll take the morning off, relax, and package up some fish!!!

I thought about taking the boat out yesterday but opted for a nice afternoon of popcorn and movies with the family... :-)

Way to stack up the fish Bigun... I wish it was not an 8 hour drive down there!

No morning off. My brother called me around 8:30 pm Sat evening begging me to bring him fishing. So fishing my brother, his friend, and myself went. Another blistery day but not nearly as bad as Saturday. Water had fallen about 8" or so. Fishing was still slow. Could not get on any fish despite hitting and running all the spots we had been catching fish at. Finally got in a small bayou in the marsh and had a steady bite between 10 am and 12 pm that saved the day. Caught some beautiful trout (15"-19") fishing DOA Shrimp and Tsunami black back minnows under corks. We also caught three reds, numbers of throwback reds, and lost 3 reds to popped lines.

Packed all the fish I had in the ice chest from the weekend this afternoon. Gave all of Th catch away to friends except the redfish fillets and just my share of the rest of the fish still wound up with 11 overstuffed bags of trout fillets and 7 gal bags of redfish on the 1/2 shell. The farmers in Ks should be happy when I get there!
