Got invited on a morning hunt to some marsh land just to the east of Houma. The guys have been seeing a bunch of deer and hopes are high for everyone that something will get stuck today. Got to the stand and the ground around the feeder was absolutely tore up (no hogs in this area!) and no corn on the ground before feeder went off. Good sign! But unfortunately everything was a no show that morning leaving all the corn on the ground to be ate later that afternoon or evening. Did see one pesky little Pope and Young potential squirrel and a cardinal. View in the front of the stand. Believe it or not but the view between the trees looks like hard land but a normal person can hardly walk on it. The deer can run on it though! Scene behind the stand! Above my head. To the right side where the old stand was. A view of the ladder stand. While it is in a good place for viewing just a little too wide open for my own taste. I've seen deer out of it the other two hunts but I think I'll bring my popup next time to see if that improves anything since the deer are figuring out they are being hunted and there is a lot more traffic in the area. Hope you enjoy. Had a charter Sat afternoon and the hard NW wind and 1 1/2 foot tide range had the marsh emptied! The guys were some normals from Shreveport but ended showing up pretty late not getting on the water until about 4:20 pm or so. But still wound up with around 20-25 trout and 3-4 reds. The reds were cruising around everywhere banging little bitty minnows. When I tell you the reds get hard to catch when they get on this pattern, believe it! Sunday AM found the wind laid down, the water up a little, and the tide with just a slight incoming presence! But the trout were on absolute fire!!! Jumping out of the water chasing shrimp and reds, we pulled an easy 75 3 man limit by 8:30 am fishing black black tsunami swimming minnows and clear w/ red tail DOA shrimp under the cork. Was an absolute blast (except having to clean them alogn with Gerald's 3 man limit also) and looking forward to the fall fishing scene. As usual did not bring the camera but will try to get better! That it is Mr. Simek! Worthy of two thermacells, a bug suit, and mosquito spray. Quit being a mad, little bald man! Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic. I forgot the CAMERA!

I went back this morning and had a yearling come in at 6:20 am. I'm not sure why my picture of it did not come out. No, I was not drinking but apparently my camera had been???? This is the best of the three shots I took of the deer. Explain this to me RKZ: Camera having trouble autofocusing on moving subject? My P&Y squirrel shows up again. I attempted a harvest on this P&Y with the giveme American Broadhead I was sent but I went just underneath. My review of this broadhead is my arrow went into the mud nearly 12" and the blades came out sharp but the tips rolled a little??? I think I'll stick with my steelforce and Wasp Sharpshooters since I've already bought those. I'll probably go fishing in the AM since the guy I hunt with has a charter but I'm secretly hoping one of his friends call me to hunt in the morning. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Looks like someone was a little nervous taking the picture of the yearling... That is an interesting scene and completely different than sitting around Capote... Bummer that the deer are not cooperating but it will happen. It must be nice to have all that outdoors in your back yard. BTW: Thanks for bringing the camera to the stand at least. Now, get that camera on the boat... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
