Hi, my name is Robert, and this is my first post. As you can see from the subject line, I need some help attracting fish to a new bulkhead and boat lift. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the ramp!!
Since lake level is low around my dock I have started collecting old bricks and rocks from friends etc... I'm making a pile within casting distance. I've also placed some cedar trees inside some cinder blocks to hold them down around the rocks. I look for this pile to be a hot spot when the lake come back up! Christmas tree work well too. You can also use PVC pipe to make a condo...

Welcome to the ramp Robert... Great to have you here.

You talking lake or bay bulkhead? What type of fish are you most interested in attracting?

Adding structure (trees) is the biggest aid in attracting fish and toss some baiting onto that and you should have some great fishing in no time.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Thanks for your replies. The bulkhead and boat lift belong to my father who has a house on Lake Livingston in Westwood Shores. Now when you say PVC pipe for a condo, what do you mean by that? The kind of fish we are looking to attract are bass and catfish.

Oh, I forgot to add that Dad and I are very novice fisherman, and need all the help that we can get. I know this is going to sound bad, but all we usually use for bait is live worms. So, anything that we can do to get the fish to come to us is a bonus.

Here's what you do for catfish...

Go get a 5 gallon bucket and a sack of Milo from the feed store. Pour Milo 3/4 of the way full in the bucket and fill with water to the top and one beer (optional). Let that sit in the sun for a week or longer and you'll have some smelling stuff brewing. You then take a coffee can and throw out some mixture (4-5 Cans) all around the area getting it as far as you can without it getting all over you. Don't use too much or they'll eat all of it and not your bait. It's best to wait about 30mins to an hour before they start showing up. If you have a boat works better great, just make a trail with the bait in circles. This will bring the catfish in believe me!! I would now use Danny Kings catfish bait with treble hooks and bobbers floated above the baited area. Keep to keep the bait just above the bottom.

Hold on cause you are going to start catch some very nice channel cats... You can use this anywhere and it WILL produce trust me!! Good luck

PS: You'll stink to the high heaven so be careful not to get it on yourself.
