So I am thinking about purchasing a used boat. 2000 21foot triton. Trolling motor on it is garbage, it is only a 65ft lb thrust. So if I buy the boat I will need a new one. What is everybodies recommendation on a trolling motor?

Oh yea, this will be a 24volt trolling motor, not a 36 unless I can put another battery in, but then I have to change the onboard charger also.

I personally am a big Minnkota fan. Had zero luck with the two Motorguide's I owned. I have heard they have improved though?? Why would you need more than 65 lbs on a bass boat?
Quit being a mad, little bald man!

You may be limited to 72 or 84 pounds on a 24v trolling motor. Definately Minn Kota in my opinion.

Bigun, he needs more because he hates fishing the same spot for more than 10 seconds... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

You need more than a trolling motor to get a TOON around:-) Just kidding.

I replaced mine two weeks ago (it was a chore). I went with another motorguide (TR82). The foot pedal is very smooth and has ample power.

I searched the internet and local shops for the best price. I bought mine from www.iboats.com They had the best price as well as free shipping and no sales tax.
