Houma has some pretty good parades if you like the family oriented type. Nothing like the Bourbon St scene though. Sunday was a pretty day and I had a few too many adult beverages Sat evening at a party so a perfect time to go with the kids to the parade instead of wetting a line. This is a medium size women's Krewe rolling today. Not the same atmosphere as a night parade which is really the one's you would want to catch if coming in from out of town.

My two girls, nephew, and Picou's aunt or my mother in law.
Waiting on the parade

The battleaxe, my eldest, and son waiting on the parade.

Let's get it started.
Hhhhheeeeeyyyyyy!!!!

Last year's queen.
Last year's queen of the parade!

It's good to be the queen of the day! Really need to take some photography classes!

They can't pass up a face like this!

An old drinking buddy from back in the day I was shocked to see in the parade!
Hhhhheeeeyyyy Girl!!!

Some float and krewe rider pictures.

Me and the boy toward the end! You don't expect me to comb my hair or shave for a parade do you? :-)

Protecting his loot.

Took the kids to the Terranean's parade this Sunday. This is a Men's Krewe riding. The Budweiser Clydesdale's were suppose to walk in the parade but some drunk ran thru a red light and police escort to hit the truck pulling the horses. Thankfully none of the horses were hurt but they did not walk in the parade.

Show it off girl!

Man, it will work up a thirst!

While these parades just are not my thing, the kids really like them so they are enjoyable that way. I guess I got dad duty today since the wife has to work on Mardi Gras. Dang Nationwide companies that don't recognize Mardi Gras as a holiday! :-)

Looks like the kids had a great time again. It has been a long time since I have been to one of those parades. As a matter of fact, your wife was twirlin a battan <sp?> in the parade still a high school student... That was a long time ago... :-)
