Fished the last 2 days in some very windy weather. First I went to Ray Bob on Sunday with my buddy Ron. The lake is still around 7' low so getting around was slow. We found some great looking water hovering around 60 degrees but the fish were not cooperative. We ended up with 1 nice lot fish and a few other missed opportunities. Here's a pic of my Roberts fish.
Roberts fish

Today I was at Fork fishing for 2nd place in my club tournament. Rumbanator had already set the bar to high for me. So winning was no longer an option. I got a heads up from OZ on some starting points Sunday night.(thanks OZ) My brother joined me for this one and once again we were met with a stiff wind. Calm water was no where to be found so I struggled coming up with a pattern. After a morning with little action I was able to findly put 4 paper fish into the boat. My best was this 20" fish that was probably 4 1/2.
Fork bass

I ended up with a little over 10 lbs. As Mike can confirm this is a good day for me on Fork. I think for the conditions this was a successful day.

Rumbanator has the early AOY lead so now he has to learn to fish with the added pressure.:-)
Congrats on the Win.

The King has stepped down -- temporarily of course!!!

That is definately an off color water fish there Mark.... :-)

Way to hang in there today on Fork with the conditions and put something together. Is that a cell phone I see on your side? Maybe you should give me that number so we can hit Texoma some time and we can trade some info buddy...

Thanks for the images and keeping us updated. I love seeing fish pictures!!!
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Nice fish, especiallt for the wind lately. I have a tournament out at Fork this weekend. Really looking forward to hooking some big ones. Lake Fork is def. one of my lakes, and this is the time of year to get the big girls.

Hey Mike, did you find someone to make those shirts for you???

Kevin, Not yet... still working on quotes. I also need to get a specific shirt for the media events because the Skeeter Real Money is available so I must have skeeter on my shirt and cap to be eligible. Of course, I have to place in 1st also but to not apply is simply tossing away $1000 in the event of a first place finish.

Good luck on Fork this weekend... I'm looking forward to the recap.

Way to go Mark. Sounds like everybody that fished had to fight the wind.

Mike, I read about those shirts man those are sweet. Hey I need to get a few stickers so throw some in the truck and next time we get together I will pay you for some. It sure is nice getting a little of that skeeter real money and why wouldn't you want to show skeeter loud and proud with that sexy ride you're in now

Yeah Mike, it is definitely a temporary thing, he knows it, he is just too nice to admit it. I have to give it to Mark, he is a threat in every tourney and on every lake, the boy has crazy skills. He needs to take it to the next level he just needs someone to give him a push.

Nice fish Mark!

Mark is by far one of the most humble anglers I have ever fished with. I once tried to talk him into moving up a level then thought about it and realized it would reduce my chances of getting a check so I quit encouraging him... :-)

BTW Rumb, I meant no dis-respect to you with that comment. It was targeted 100% at making fun of Mark and him conceeding to defeat. He is the first to announce defeat and the last to shout victory.

It never crossed my mind that you were disrespecting me, don't even worry about it, I know where I rank and it definitely aint with the "Big Dogs." I've known Mark for 10 years now and I know what you mean, he is one all around nice guy.
I actually started fishing with Mark when I first joined the club and regret the day I started fishing by myself because I could have learned a lot more from him; especially his good spots:-)
I finally started to fish better the last couple of years because I took some time off from club fishing and found a bait that I really have confidence in that I can go out and catch fish when it seems like I can't get bit on anything else. I just went out fishing and tried to learn a few things other than fishing a SB and a topwater. I can give Mark a run early in the year but when conditions get tough he gets separation from the rest of the pack. The real reason AOY race is ever close towards the end of the year is because when Sept./Oct. rolls around he isn't thinking about fishing he's thinking about putting and arrow in something:-)

Hey Mark, don't get too swelled of a head over all of this bragging on ya!

Mike, my cell number is 903 819-1749. I'm all for a Texoma trip. We need to look at our schedules and find a good day. My best days to fish are Sunday-Tuesday. See what you have open and let me know.

As for moving to the next level. You guys have a lot more confidence in me than I do. I'm constantly looking at results from different trails and I always come to the conclusion that I couldn't have won any of them.

Maybe when I get a bigger boat I'll give it a shot on one of the local trails. For now I'm happy trying to out fish Dave. :-)

I agree with Dave, I've known Mark since the early '90's and he is an all around nice guy and hard to beat at anything. Fishing, hunting, bow tournaments. Can we all have a group hug now.
