Here's a picture of a buddy of mine that I'm proud to say "I" got him started and taught him how to fish. As the pictures indicates he is a good student:-)

wow. what are the details? I think this is a classic case of those who can fish will fish, those who can't teach :-)

As I wipe the tears of laughter from my face...

That was funny right there...

Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Man o man - The initial story was a hoot, "those that can't teach" my sides still hurt from laughter.

The truth is it sucks that a beast like that had to be killed, it would be nice to know our kids have a chance to catch a trophy like that some day, the only way it's possbile is not to kill them off when you are blessed with such a trophy!

Stewart Valentine in Lewisville did my replica mount, he is by far teh best I have seen when it comes to fish mounts.

Welcome to the ramp Splitshot... It does suck to see a fish like that killed, but no laws were broken and it was his right to keep the fish. Not everyone shares the same passion that we do for bass fishing and we cannot fault them for that. The speckled trout guys get hacked when someone keeps a 30" trout but I'll never hesitate to put one in my ice chest if I catch one. A fish of a lifetime is a fish of a lifetime. Congrats to the angler for catching a monster.

I used Lake Fork Tackle for my 11 and it was under $300 I believe back in 2000. Might be a bit more now. Just think, turn it into share-lunker live and he would have gotten a free replica -- live & learn.
