Well it's been awhile since I've wet a line anywhere. Heck, it's been awhile since I've been here! Darn PQ and fishing family, I've sinned. LOL! I've been traveling a ton for work (every week out of State) and the weather has been a tad too cold for consistent angling..at least for me it has been.

So decided to spend some time this weekend looking for smallmouth bass. Never have caught a single smallmouth to date. Never fished water that had them with the exception of Texhoma and we were looking for Stripers there. I got them figured out now LOL!

Caught 6 of them Saturday with 3 of them around this size. Texas rigged worm, 3/8 ounce bullet weight, 7 " green pumpkin Berkley PowerBait and a 3/0 wide gap Lazer Sharp worm hook - Eagle Claw.

Found a good hole with the right rocks and water flow and simply picked them up. In the process I caught and released a 6lb channel cat which hammered my Texas Rig setup as well. Poor cat was a little PO'd, had a hook in his mouth from a recent break off.

Fishing the upper ends of the Guadalupe beyond Kerrville. The Kayak and I are going to really put some time in on this river this summer.

Thank you guys and yes PQ, I am back. I need to buy another FTN decal here real soon Amigo. In the process of buying my 2nd kayak, a surf model geared for PINS. The 1st yak is a Texas Hill Country river yak and she's sporting FTN now. :-) One of us on here needs to fish a little differently and I've always kinda fit that role LOL!

I'll hook ya' up with another sticker Rob...

We took the Ocean Kayak out into the rollers last year at the coast and had a blast. The waves were breaking over Connie's head in the front of the yak and if we did not maintain forward momentum we would surf backwards and roll -- too much fun...
