Thanks for talking me into fishing that tournament on Fork this weekend Zeeter. Congrats on a solid 2nd place finish!!!! I had a great day of fishing on Fork Saturday and ended up 8th place in the tourney and managed a small check that covered my entry fee plus a little. Then in the raffle I won $25 worth of fuel so my day was basically paid for. Well worth the effort to me. My largest fish for the day was a 7 pound beauty caught first thing in the morning on a JDC Baits Skip-N-Pop. I caught her on th 3.5" white with the tail dipped in chart spike it. Later in the morning the clouds rolled in so I put on a watermelon skip-n-pop and caught a few more -- man I love top water fishing.... I also broke off a fish on the JDC Bass Bone early fishing wacky rig over grass in 8' of water. I fished the bone out away from shore while I was cruising the banks looking for under fish on beds. I passed on so many catchable fish because they were slot fish and caught a few that looked like keepers but ended up 16 1/8 to 16 1/2 inches. Most of my keepers came from sight fishing and fell prey to the white tube rigged with a home-made hook/weight rig that worked excellent. If I could not get them in on the tube they would typically fall for the bubble-gum JDC craw. One of the fish hit the tube twice and I got him out of the water on both times but he came off. I tossed out the craw and he took a boat ride to weigh in... Saw a pig on a bed with a smaller fish but she kept leaving completely out of sight when I would pitch to her. The smaller fish would stay close so since I already had a limit I decided to catch the smaller one. That fish was 4.5 pounds and would not hit the tube but inhaled the craw. I sure wish the bigger fish would have been a little more committed because she may have been an over. I almost went back to that spot after weigh in to try again. I had a great time fishing and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. Getting a check was just icing on the cake. Thanks for everything Zeeter and congrats again to you. And if little Eric ever reads this, congrats to you on your 6th place finish. Only 16 years old and already one heck of a fisherman. Here is a picture of my most productive baits:

Awesome job Mike. Congrats Skeeter. Mike, you didn't miss anything at Texoma. Vince and I culled 4 or 5 times and could not break the 10 pound mark. With 9.89 pounds we finished in our usual spot, one place out of the money. In this tournament that place was 11th. Again, good job at Fork. BassZone.com

Mike, Thanks man what a day huh. Congrats to you on a check man. Nothing like getting paid to fish. The bite is on at Fork and I just can't seem to stay away. If that lake is anything like drugs man I'm glad I never got introduced. Saturday I had a great day with probably 28-30 fish. Most on beds like you said Mike, but did catch staging or post spawn fish all the way out to 20 foot. My fish came on black/blue craws, buzzbaits early and carolina rigged centipedes (zoom). If you all get a chance go get em at fork as soon as possible. Several tourneys this weekend coming up at Fork with some monster payouts but I'm on the road for a tournament this week and week end so had to leave fork for a while but shall return as soon as possible. Congrats again to Picou for cashing a check. Catching Big Ole PIGS... It's Awesome Man Zach Hughes
