Had a good weekend fishing the river. Managed Guadulupe's, Largemouth and Smallmouth working Texas rigged watermelon/red sparkle 4 inch worms.

Met a guy on one stretch of the river that feeds a lake section (private neighborhood river access) that gave me some excellent info. As he fed, and we talked, about a dozen whisker kitties boiled at his bulkhead feeding on floating catfish pellets. Several hit 3ft in length! He feeds every evening all summer long and just started his routine a couple of days ago. As I sat out in the river casting lures he stated "you need to get on some of these sometime." LOL! I do believe I will! Some serious big cats and no one fishes this stretch of river seriously. From what I've gathered, the landowners are elderly and retired on this quarter mile stretch of water. OH LAWDY!!!

Here's that section. One bend in the river up from the dam and a straight shot to the next spillway. Upper Guadalupe River area near Hunt. Man this place is unreal! I lost count on whitetails this evening and the darn Axis bark every evening into nightfall. Didn't want to get in off the river today :-)

I'm shopping for a 2nd Kayak. In due time that's two ready to float and fish. :-) Give me a couple of months and I'll have more areas covered as I figure this scene out.

These smallmouth bass are fighters. Everyone I've hooked has completely gone airborne and fought like mad.

Rob, by the way, Happy b-day. Nice job on the brownies. The are my favorite fish; although I have not tasted a Guadalupe.

Keep the canoe straight and your paddle in hand, at least that is what my grand pappy said.

Nice work
