That bottom one looks like a Snapper. Pretty wild looking. Anyone got any ideas. |

I have a feeling Lake XX is a little bit bigger than Lake X! Caught them on carolina rigged topwater baits I'll bet. I'm a little rusty on my saltwater offshore fish but I would say the top is a triple tail?? Of course the bottom one is a red snapper. Quit being a mad, little bald man! ok ok maybe it was off shore X.. the top one is a marble grouper and the bottom is a black fin snapper... all part of the take home from our recent off shore tuna trip. |

So it is? http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/largeview.asp?FishID=153 I originally thought a grouper but most grouper do not have the hard angle of the head. Quit being a mad, little bald man! Check out the Saltwater reports if you want to see some fish catching! http://www.myspace.com/biguncharter

Hawghunter goes off shore fishing and they actually brought him back -- with fish to boot!!! Looks like ya'll had a great trip offshore. My first guess on the brown one was a grouper but what the heck do I know. Congrats on some saltwater action and thanks for posting the pictures. Leave to Ozzie to catch the tall boy in the back ground.... Funnier story of the whole off shore trip is that I caught a 45 pound Yellow fin tuna and after I picked it up of the boat to go home I lost it.... Some how it didnt make the trip home.. Im still wondering how a 38 inch 45 pound fish gets lost... |

We went out of Freeport. and went 207 miles out for the first spot... Redhawk rig I think he called it... we caught a few Yellow fin and a ton of black fin there... The grouper came from a couple hours in from that. not sure how far out though |

WOW - That is a long haul - it must have been an overnighter? Some day I want to find some grouper. I hear you only need to go about 40-60 miles out for that - if you know where to go. Any one have good coordinates out of freeport for me? All In A Days Fun!!!
