Went out the other day - solo - and had a pretty good day even though the catch was slow. I weighed these fish the next day so they were probably heavier when they were fresh and alive. 18lb Snapper 22lb Ling When I had the snapper on I thought for sure I had a shark or something - he just kept pulling and pulling. Took me a good 10 minutes to even get to see him. Landed it with a net. It was tricky catching the Ling because he wanted to go around the platform so I had to chase him - don't give slack - drive the boat - battle the wind and current - and finally boat him. Man - I did it! What a task! By the end of the day the seas had kicked up to 2-4 and the 30 mile ride in was - interesting.... All In A Days Fun!!!

I didn't think the gulf had snappers like that anymore. Nice fish. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

Now we're talking freezer fillers -- 40 pounds of it... Congrats on some big brutes on the solo trip. The fact that you did not weigh them till the next day leads me to believe that you did not enter them in the CCA contest -- didn't we talk about that already this year... Way to get out there and get it done. I'll be down there soon enough and we can see about getting some of those in the boat then. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish FTN Webs -- Affordable Small Business & Personal Web Sites

Actually - didn't freeze much. Neighbors all got some Ling and a few clients too. I kept almost all of the snapper. My neighbor cooked some the other night at our house to teach me how to sautee and make a sauce. I'll tell ya - That was some GOOD STUFF! Looks like I'll be doing that more than grilling from now on... He used white wine, butter, some little green pea like things, salt, pepper, flour, and a few other things and - mmmm mmmm mmmmmmm - the flavor was very good! The thick pieces of snapper were the best compared to the thin ones. Now I will be targeting the big fish and letting the little ones grow. All In A Days Fun!!!
