What rod would you recommend for a shaky head jig or drop shot rig?????

I would prefer to stay with a bait caster verses a spinning set up.

If that is not a good idea, please explain why. I am new to this light tackle stuff

the 70ML makes a good shaky head drop shot rod. it also is a good crankbait rod. it is a bait cast. the reason most use a spinning rod is for the light weight heads being used with lighter line. you have more accurate casting with that set up.

Hello Basshunter:
Triton21 is correct the 70ml will work well for both, because it has a tip lite enough to Drop Shot yet enough back bone for Shaky Head. It is rated 8-15 line 1/4-1/2 oz. lure putting it in the correct weight, and action. The 70ml is one our Pro's favorite rods. You can also use it for small/med. crankbaits. I hope I helped give me a call I will be glad to talk with you I will help you choose a rod even if it is'nt one of ours. We really do want to help anglers have sucess.

Hello Bill:
I have a 66ml it is 6'6" it is just right for that application. I do not have it listed yet just finished the testing on it. I think it is going to be one of our top Rods. you can call me if you would like to place an order for that rod I can take it over the phone. The rod was tested in salt water first we test our rods for at least 4 months before we will put them in our line-up. If you would like Titanium Guides just let me know you just pay the extra cost of the guides my cost nothing added. Will look forward to hearing from you good fishing. Michael 817-229-9341

I have been using a 66ML for a couple weeks now and it would work well for topwaters and exposed hook soft plastics like hogies or sand eels.

You will like it...
