I bit the bullet and purchased a couple of spools of Seaguar InvisX in 12 and 15 lb.
Just wanted to pass along that I have been thoroughly impressed with InvizX so far.
Ultra sensitive, very strong and pricey…..
Caught ~10 fish on the last trip to Fork with no breakoffs on the 12 lb. even when pulling slot fish through stumps.

Good to hear Tom. I have yet to see a bad review for Seaguar.

Seaguar is pricey but from what I have heard it is the best floro out there. I have been throwing P-line Halo 20 and Vanish 15 on Lake Austin. So far I have had one break off on the vanish and none on the Halo.

How often do you guys change your line? I seem to be changing mine every 2 weeks. I tried some of that Yo-Zuri Hybrid line and found it to be no different, for me, than regular cheap Berkley mono. If I have to change line every week or two, I dont see the need to spend the extra cash. Please let me know your thoughts, am I way off base? Have I been out of circulation too long or what?

Terry, It is just that the fluoro is so much more sensitive than mono. I had never used fluoro before but it may be hard to put it down now after feeling the huge difference.
I also hear that it is very abrasion resistant, though when it kinks, that is not a good thing.

Floro has it's place but abrasion resistance is not a characteristic of it. Nicks, kinks, etc... are very bad for floro. Also note that floro has virtually no stretch so all of the stuff you could get away with on mono will break floro.

Ya'll can have the floro. I'm going to stick with my big game until Gamma comes out with a co-poly in green.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Why does no one seem to use braided line then instead of floro? And do some of you use braided line for certain things, like flippin in heavy cover, crankin.......

P-Line has been great for me. I use to have braid on most of my reels but kept having breakoffs.

Threw all that high $$$ crap away and have stayed with P-Line ever since.

I tried the berkley brand for one year and took it off. I broke off too much but I think it was because I was using a palomar knot. I haven't given it another shot yet. Keep the reviews coming.

I would still use mono for crankin. I would not use floro for topwaters since the line sinks. I use braid on my carolina rig rod (with a mono or floro leader) and will use it on the swimbait rod. The main reason I tried floro is the clear water lakes in central texas. Like Tomc said the sensitivity is amazing on the line, plus it disappears in the water.

I have been fishing the 12 lb. InvisX for the last 3 or 4 trips to Fork. Fishing 12 lb. on Fork would have sounded iffy to me. I have been completely impressed with the overall performance.
The sensitivity is extreme and the abrasion resistance has been impressive. I have caught up to ~ 8 fish without having to re-tie and pulled many fish through timber.
Caught ~25-30 fish total over the last several trips and just broke off the first time on a hookset yesterday evening. I was wondering how long it was going to take me to snap that 12 lb. on the hookset. I had just re-tied after a hang-up and I could have possibly tied a crappy knot (maybe crossed the line with the polomar; it was real windy out there yesterday, fished with my life jacket on the whole time). More than likely, I just over-ampped the hookset.
The only drawback I see thus far it that the line will kink if you are not careful when picking out a backlash. Not bragging here, but have outfished everyone in the boat recently and I think it is due to the sensitivity and the fact that the line disappears on the water. This weekend, I am going to throw the 15 lb more than the 12 and see how that works out.

I found some power pro in my boat after the Skeeter. I might have to give that a try... :-)

Glad that line is working out for you Tom. It is still very hard for me to swollow the cost... You keep having good results and I may be forced to give it a try.

Been throwing the 65 power pro on the frog rod, though the topwater bite has not treated me right the last couple of times I have tried.

I may have to spool up my topwater rod and give it a try this weekend. Might make me a little more comfortable throwing those $15 topwater baits... :-)
