My lovely wife almost cost me a bunch of money this weekend. We had her two nephews and family plus her with Mom and Dad out to the lake doing the holiday thing cooking fishing and what not¡KWell Michele was fishing off the dock with a Spro Frog. She was casting around the lily pads when¡K No other then Mister ¡§PQ¡¨ himself shows up to say Hello. Michele had just made a cast so she leans the rod against the rail and go over to say hello to Mike. I showed up from taking the folks for a ride in the Triton and we talked for a few minutes and Mike leaves. Michele goes back to the dock and the rod is missing, she asks everyone if they¡¦ve seen the rod and Cindy says ¡§is that what I seen out of the corner of my eyes¡¨? ¡§Well it lunched over the side of the dock¡¨. They all start yelling at me to come here the rod is GONE!!! Mike was driving off at that time so I headed down to the dock. I asked Michele what the heck did you do and she could remember if she left the frog hanging over the side or left it cast out in the lily pads. Needless to say I ended up in the water looking around the muck and pads and everything else for my Falcon Cara & Daiwa Viento reel!!
By now 6 people are tell me¡K look there, No look over hear, it went this way... After everyone settled down we decided Michele must have left it cast out so we started thinking which way a fish could have pulled it over the side and low and behold around 15ft from the dock in the pads is the butt of the rods just under the surface. So, I wade out there and grab it and no fish and no frog!! The fish must have broke off in the pads trying to drag that rod and reel around. I wonder how big that fish was. All in all it was a happy ending and we all teased Michele about it for the rest of the day ƒº

Glad you got your gear back OZ! It was probably a new State record to be able to pull your gear over your rails:-)

OZ, I would check Mike's boat for that Spro Frog. I think he stole the frog and threw the rod off the deck to cover his tracks.

If it was a Hendrix rod and Shimano reel, the frog would have been the only thing left. :-)

Glad you found it anyway.

You might consider getting that reel cleaned. Reels never like going for an extended swim.

There has to be more to the story, was alcohol involved? Did anyone catch a bass with a frog in its mouth?

OZ that is just too funny, I have got to stop by your place some time, if for nothing else the entertainment value.

Sorry Mike. I'll trade you another Spro frog for that Yellow Magic. I might need it this weekend on Texoma.
