Ozzie called me on Friday soliciting assistance with the task of staining the deck at his lake house this past weekend. Sensing the desparation in his voice I agreed to meet him at the house Saturday afternoon and we would Get 'er Done...

I got out to Ozzie's place around 3:30pm and we got busy with staining and drinking beer. After a couple of hours of work we launched the boat and caught the end of the day's bite. It worked out well because we managed 9 fish that evening including these...

First cast of the afternoon :-)

Considering the morning that Ozzie had on Ray Hubbard that morning, he was a little excited when he hooked into this fish...

Everyone around us thought we were nutts...

Then the perfect hat mounter

We had a great time catching fish and drinking cold beer until the sun went down and we headed in for dinner.

Sunday morning we opted for some time on the water early in order to allow the sun some time to dry out the remainder of the deck that needed to be completed from the overnight rain. We managed to boat a few fish before we went in and Ozzie hammered an exotic up in the reeds...

Hammer Head!!!

Sometimes you just have to check the size :-)

Then there were the honorable mentions of the weekend...

I had a great time hangin out with Ozzie this weekend and I'm glad we were able to get the deck completely done -- it looks great. Hopefully that realy is a 4 year stain... I should have snapped a picture of the finished product but by the time I thought about it we could not walk on it anymore... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Yea, somehow I neglected to mention that Oz outfished me both days... :-)

I had a great time this weekend. As is with any time spent around Oz, the level of laughter is always high.

I think we should meet next week when Oz is in Mexico :-)

I am up for a trip back to Fork. July/August is probably best for me, September is time to get ready for deer season and to do some dove hunting. Let's start making plans for a weekend. what are ya'lls tournament schedules like then? We could have a FTN summer outing on Fork. Hey Oz, is my brisket ready yet? :-)

Way to capture an afternoon PQ.

I'm ready to be a boat passenger whenever a date is set.

How about either the weekend of August 11th or August 25th? I guess this should have it's own thread....

I think Mike meant to type Auguast 11 instead of the 18th. Either that or he is sick of fishing with me and is blowing the 11th off and hasn't told me yet:-)
