This is a little late. last weekend I went to lake bastrop on saturday for couple of hours of fishing. We caught some fish early in the grass then moved out to the dam area and picked up some schooling fish. We got off of the water around noon and had probably boated 10 fish or so. biggest fish was close to 3lbs but most were 1.5lb or so. Fish were caught on spinnerbaits and senkos in the grass. Weightless flukes on the schooling fish near the dam. A storm rolled through and shut down the schooling fish otherwise I think we would have done alot better.
Sunday went to Decker lake with Simek. This was a short trip as we fished from daylight till around 10am. We picked up some fish on spinnerbaits near the reeds then ended the morning fishing splitshot flukes near the dam. We ended up with about 10 in the boat on sunday also. Smaller fish though, biggest might have been 2lbs.

You need to start bringing Zabroky so we have some pictures to back these stories up? :-)

I remember when Decker was a hot little lake in the late 80's. We used to catch 4-7lbrs. all the time. congrats on a good weekend of fishing.

Did you catch any gaspergoo around the dam on bastrop. theres some big ones in that lake.

Wes is a master guide. The man's knowledge of fish is uncanny. I will now refer to him as black bass Mathies.

In all honesty, it was a great trip. I had not been bass fishing in a long time. It was good to get out on the water again. Thanks Wes!
