Sweet.... Congrats Ozzie, I'm looking forward to seeing the fish and hearing the story. Seeing how you reacted to that 4 pounder last weekend, I can only imagine the noises coming from the boat when you hooked into that one!!! :-)

BTW: It's tomorrow and we are waiting for the story!!!
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Here's the story...
Michele and I have really been having fun cruising around in that little bass buster or Wiener Boat as we call it that Wes left us. We decided that Sunday morning we would go to outdoor church services at Tyler state park and then go fishing at the lake and spend some time together. I loaded up two rods and some night crawlers to catch a few pan fish and one rod was for bass. Michele always takes control in the wiener boat so I was just making a few casts with a brush hogs as we did the circle around the lake. Once we got over by the swimming beach I landed a little bass that was as pretty as can be, the colors were great on that fish. I ended up catching a few more including a 5 plus on the baby brush hogs. I’m glad they were hitting the brush hogs cause that all I had with me. We were about half way around the lake a when saw a bunch of scuba driver well we didn’t want to hook one so we veered off into deeper water and were closing in on a fishing pier. I made a long cast and waited for the bait to settle to the bottom but I just didn’t feel right so I raised up the line and sure enough it was moving to the left so I set the hook and man did that thing pull…The people on the pier looked over just as she jumped about 30ft in front of us and Michele and I both were amazed at the size of the fish. All I could say was “this is a big fish baby, a really big fish” I played her out for a while and just lipped her into the boat. The folks on the pier were all clapping it was too cool.

I didn’t have anything in the boat to measure her, weigh her or get a pic. Well Wes has a green coated string on the side boat so used that to haul her into the shallows. It was like tying a shark to the side of a boat and hauling her in. When we finally got her to the boat ramp and I used mono to get the length and girth and snap a few pics. She was released at the ramp in good shape…What a great fish that was and just in time for El Salto!!
She was 25 1/8” x 18 3/8”. I looked around for fish calculators on the net and she’s coming out to be just over ten pounds and I agree because she was a very healthy fish. I believe I’ve finally busted the 10 pound mark and what a way to do it with my wife.

PS: I have a $40,000.00 Triton for sale now ;)

Oz - You are the man! We are not worthy.

How much for the weiner boat, it catches fish, the Triton on the other hand has not been so blessed.

Good luck in Mexico.
