Had charters today. Fishing sucked. 6 reds, 2 bass and 1 trout. They lost a bunch of fish early in morning. Caught a bunch of throwback reds but could never get on any with any size. Caught fish on small Stanley wedge spinnerbaits, buzz baits, spoons, and Mann minus one crankbaits. All caught fish at some point or the other. Have charters tomorrow thru Su. Have no clue where I'm going to fish tomorrow. Depending on reports I may run to the coast and trout fish. Quit being a mad, little bald man!

Headed out on the Guadalupe here in a few moments for bass and cat fish on the kayak. Over to the Pedernales River tomorrow to Will's bar-b-que. Bowfish, eat, drink and what ever. Roll back to Kerrville on Sunday sometime. Next following weekend it's off to PINS with Drifter for a hardcore surf fishing trip. Sharks and more sharks with possibly a few surf side specs. We shall see. |

Thanks TomC. Back to redfishing today. Ended up with 8 keeper reds and several throwbacks but my guys can't complain due to missed opportunities. We lost at least 8 reds right at the boat today some reason. Hard to come back from that many days and they shut down on us quick this morning. After the sun got up high I could see redfish and just could not get them to hit. They would act interested but just would not pull the trigger. Why it is fishing and not catching I guess! Charters for Tomorrow canceled and these same guys had Sunday booked also so are going to try to gather a crew for Sunday. Nothing like getting paid to stay home! Quit being a mad, little bald man!

What do you do when the West wind blows? Gather up six friends you have not seen in a while and Go surf fishing. It was a little choppy going out side seas but we made it out to Timbalier Island and tore up some trout throwing single lead heads with Avacoda bayou chub plastics and berkley power baits. No real big trout but 150 trout in the ice chest between the two boats and a good time was had. I brought the camera but just never got it out. Back to redfishing tomorrow it sounds like with the PSC crew coming in. Sounds like I have a boat full of women to entertain tomorrow! Wish me luck. Quit being a mad, little bald man!

Spent the day on Lake X. Caught some fish early in the morning and late afternoon. Fishing was tough because of a tournament. Lake had close to 50 boats on it Saturday. Metro lakes are closed so my lake catches it. Even with all the boats out, I can still boat 20lbs of fish. take time to take a kid fishing |

Dang BigEasy, y'all eat good over there in Bayou Country - SON! Got out on the Guadalupe, in the Ocean Kayak, and it was pretty warm, no wind. Worked a downriver drift, right after sunset and managed 4 bass, frog topwater, and then the bite went off. Pitch dark, Mexican Free Tail bats buzzing my head with a high cliff face on the South side of the river (bat roost), and a thunderstorm display to the East in the distance. Axis deer working the North bank, alerting to me, barking loudly with coyotes howling along the upper river valley...absolute silence excluding the critters....beautiful night! Shifted gears to catfish. Tossed two rods out with chicken livers and simply laid back in the yak and stared at the stars. About 15 minutes into my wait, one reel screams. Lock the drag to fight and off I go for a ride. Up stream, then down stream for roughly 10 minutes, bats zipping by my head and a fish turning left and right and doubling back up under the yak. Strong fish LOL! Finally get a visual and low and behold it's a darn 4ft spotted gar. Oh well, no whisker kitties in this particular hole and after all the commotion up top, figured they scattered downstream so called it an evening and went home. Great lightening picture Rob. You got skillz with the camera. I had Nadine, Kim, and Carol in the Baystealth today and these ladies were not taking No for answer when it came to going fishing. We had to put off the early morning start to allow some heavy rain storms to blow through but by 7:15 am or so we got off on our journey. Armed with a couple pounds of shrimp we set off for a memorable day. Decided to get away from the spoons and spinner baits and try some deep holes from some reds. Running to the first spot I had to run through a small section of shallow marsh to get to the deep water and on one of the turns some reason my prop cavitated and shut me down in little to no water!!! Not a good start. I was able to reverse down far enough to get us floating and then troll motor about 10 minutes to get us back to deep enough water to get back up. I was relieved because I was not so certain we were going to get out of this mud flat or not without calling a mudboat in!!! First spot started off slow with just some drums and croakers being caught but it wound up being the only spot needing to be visited once we figured out where the fish were laying in the current. We caught our 20 reds plus about five throw backs by 9:45 am. The redfish wranglettes are suppose to be emailing me all the pictures so will post them if/when I get them. Best part was we barely beat a unbelievable heavy wind rain storm into the shed. We literally rain the dry edge of the rain line across the lake without getting wet. Was a great day! Finally got the pictures from the Lady Redfish slaughter: Nadine holding up her prizes! The girls were impressed I would bait their hook for them. They said there husband's would never do that. Kim got it going on! Carol was swinging them in too. Nadine trying to show her redfish wranglerette form!

Not true: I did not post this Sunday's report on purpose Will. I basically got "skunked". Three keeper reds and 4 throwbacks in 7 hrs of fishing. Of course My charter would not let me fish with shrimp either! Quit being a mad, little bald man!
