Thinking of changeing my address. Which lake is best to live by? I know the winters at Texhoma are pretty bad compared to Choke Canyon where I fish now, but how about ice and snow and hail and sleet around fork? I never fished either yet. Like to catch Strippers,Whites,Crappie,Bluegills,Black Bass.

Well, if I had the choice I would live closer to Fork because I love that lake. You will not find the stripers or white bass in Lake Fork but you can go a few miles to the east and fish Tawakoni for some awesome white bass and striper fishing. The crappie can be fenomenal on Fork and the catfishing is actually pretty good also. The catfishing on Tawakoni is excellent as well.

One more thing, the property costs are probably significantly cheaper between Fork and Tawakoni.

I wish I had the ability to live closer to the lake... Good luck in your decision making process and Welcome to The Ramp!
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Either place is great. On Texoma you have to deal with the pleasure boaters during the summer months but you have to deal with a lot of boats on Fork as well. On fork though they are at least all fisherman.
If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related.

Welcome to the site Surfman!

You could move to Lake Lavon. That's about the half way point to Texoma and Fork:-)
