A buddy and I ventured to Lake Lavon Sunday (07/22/07). This was the first time I have fished Lavon this year despite living a few miles away. With limited boat ramps open due to high water I was forced to drive across the river below the dam and could immediatly tell the gates were wide open. We launched the boat and headed to our first spot around 7:00am. We were throwing spinnerbaits and TXRIG into the flooded bushes. I figured the fish would be scattered and we would need to cover alot of water which we did. We ended up fishing flooded bushes, rocks, timber and marinas without a bite. Instead of calling it quits and going home dejected we headed to main lake points to target sandbass. We ened up catching 40-50 sand bass in short order with bandit 200 in splatterback colors. We had numerous doubles and had blast reeling them in. Around 1:00 we decided to head home for some lunch and a much needed afternoon nap. |

Congrats on the fish Charles, now go back and find the bass because I have a tournament out there at the end of September and with the lake as it is I have no idea where to find them green fish out there. You also did a lot better on the sandies then Jessica and I did Saturday afternoon. We boated countless little fish but only two that were worth keeping. I did manage to catch 2 little bass at the same time on a Tony Acetta pet spoon. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish FTN Webs -- Affordable Small Business & Personal Web Sites

Doubles on crankbaits must get interesting when taking them off. Good day of fishing. Where are the pictures? Quit being a mad, little bald man!
