Well, it's all over and I am back home again. I miss the beach already...

Friday night we enjoyed a medley of fish caught offshore and I am here to tell you it was delicious. We had fried kingfish balls, grilled bacon wrapped kingfish, fried anglefish, and grilled red snapper on the half shell. My favorite of course was the bacon wrapped kingfish and the kids liked the anglefish the most. In truth, it was all great.

On Saturday I slept in and woke up to smooth clear surf conditions.

Around 10:00am the kids were ready to go swimming so we headed into the water for some fun. The water was extrememly clear and the female blue crabs were up in force to lay their eggs. The kids had a ball catching them in the net and releasing them and I decided that I had to fish a little bit more. I grabbed my Hendrix CB783 and headed into the surf with a gold spoon to see what I could stir up. I quickly caught 3 small Spanish Mackerel and then broke off. I went back in and re-tied with a braid leader and landed 3 more including a 2.5 pounder. Connie came out with a net and took the largest one back in for the cooler. Soon afterwards I broke off again so I tied on another spoon and after a few more fish including another 2 pounder I broke off for the third time. I tied on my last spoon and ended up catching a speck and sand trout before giving up.

We grilled the macks Saturday night and went out for one last walk on the beach before having to pack up and head home on Sunday.

Here is a view of our beach house from the beach:

Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Man that water looks nice! I'm heading down there today and it doesn't look like I will see those conditions. What a great way to end the trip! Looks like a darn good vacation Picou. I'll give you a holler if we decide to go crabbing. Thanks.

Great trip Mike. Ya'll really do it up right down on the coast.

Picou, we never made it around to going crabbing. I was hitting the surf pretty hard most of the time. If you missed it, here's my report that I posted over at TBH.

Mike,
Great story once again!!! I am heading to the fridge after this post. The food pic was brutal.

Make SURE you bring your fish cooker, breading, seasonings, etc.
We will bring tip money and you don't have to wear anything special.
Thanking Him, all day long
