Anybody else fish it? I fished today and had three slot fish and a bunch of 12-14inchers. One slot fish was 20" and 5lbs 11oz. The other two were 16 1/4" and 18". All were caught in less than 4' of water in Birch.

At least you were able to boat some fish in that zoo environment. Will you be fishing tomorrow? If so, be safe and catch an over...

How was the crowds?

No, just fished saturday. I stayed in my favorite (Boat House Cove) in Birch all day and there were only about three other boats besides mine and my buddies all day. The cove looks like nothing, but I have caught lots of fish from it. Three years ago I was the only boat in that cove for two days during Mcdonalds in which time we caught over 100 fish. The main lake was packed though.

You on the right or left side before going under the bridge? I personally have never been past the bridge in Birch. I fish the first 3 or 4 boat houses on the left before the bridge and have only fished that row of houses on the right side before the bridge once.

Of course, then there's those boat houses that start just north of the pipeline that I have caught a lot of fish out of also. And that other cove with boat houses on the right just after you get into Birch, and that row... :-)

One of these days I need to explore past the bridge in Birch. I just have always spent my time in more "main lake" type water on Fork. I really need to change that.

I love fishing the left hand bank all the way in the back of Birch Creek. There is one cove just before a long pier with a surviellance camera on it and an island off bank. Love flipping weightless lizards in all the cover on the bank. Have caught a lot of fish in that small area. I only fish there once a year so I can give up my secret spots.

You always bring me in that cold water main lake to fish. I just thought you knew what you were doing. Should have known better! Oh & I also forgot about the easter egg Bandit crankbait. They love those back there also.

Left hand side before the bridge. I fish starting at the third boat dock closest to the main lake and work all the way around towards the bridge. Most fish came from the back of the cove before you get to all the timber. The stump I got stuck on last month was past the highline past the bridge in birch on the right.

I usually pitch the first couple of docs on the left because of the deep water. I will also CR that shoreline between the boat docs. It is that long shoreline before you get there on the left with all the boat docs that I spend a lot of time in fishing everything from CR or Jigs in the timber and split-shot around the boat docs.

Good information guys. I may check those spots out at my tournament on the 11th. First I've got to go hunting near llano for the weekend. Heading out thursday and will be back sunday. I fished the mouth of birch last year and had pretty good success on spinnerbaits. Hopefully they'll be there again this year.
I see my rod is longer than yours.
