From fishing to hunting... The closer we get to bow season the more I am thinking about arrowing deer and less consideration for the fishing.

I can't believe this year Wes and I are going to miss opening weekend of bow season for an archery alligator hunt. Is there a P&Y category for lizards? :-)

The second weekend of archery season I will be fishing the Media Teams Championship with Charles on Texoma.

If I had to guess, my wife will probably do all in her power to prevent me from deer hunting the 3rd weekend of season considering I have something going on every weekend up to then... Maybe if I take the kids with me she won't mind as much.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

We are watching that storm in the gulf. They canceled the hunts last week because of the hurricane that hit. With this storm rolling in like it is there is a good chance our hunt will get canceled also. Oh well, guess I will just have to go deer hunting if that happens :-)

Last I heard on the storm is it's predicted to hit between the eastern part of Louisiana to Alabama.

I hate preparing for a hunt that has a probability of being canceled... What am I going to do with 10 gallons of fermented blood if the hunt is canceled? Any proms going on right now???? :-)

We decided to skip the lizard hunt. Headed to Seguin this weekend to do some deer hunting. On a fishing note, I am planning on putting the boat in tomorrow morning and fishing Lake Austin for a few hours.

LMAO....

Charles, we must be getting old because we did not knock back the beer that we would have usually consumed. Nor did we kill any deer because of lazyness... :-) I know I had a doe at 16 yards for about 30 minutes that I just could not bring myself to shoot.

It was a good time none the less and maybe later this month will be different.

Tex, Rumb, Simek....????? Anyone harvest anything this weekend?

Harvest?!?!?! that's the problem right there. KILLING is the mindset PQ! :-)

It was hot this past weekend. I cruised around Sunday checking on the locals and only spotted 2 young bucks. Bedded down, thick cover, warm weather...why move during daylight. Come on cold weather!

Same here. I only saw some deer while driving. Nothing was coming to corn due to all the acorns we have on the property right now. We really need that first freeze to help us out.

Picou must have killed them all because I did not see much hunting this weekend. I did blow my one chance by waiting too long thinking I would get a better shot though. Killed some brain cells and had a good time which is what it is all about.
