Broke my swimbait rod a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how but it snapped about the 3rd eye down. PQ was coming into town that weekend so I gave the rod to him to take back to Hendrix. Well PQ showed up this weekend to go deer hunting and had my new swimbait rod with him. Thanks for the quick turnaround on getting me a replacement rod. The new rod looks awsome!!! Sucked that the rod broke but it was a no-hassle deal getting a new one. If you are looking for a good custom rod make sure you look at the hendrix rods.

I'm glad you like the rod Wes. Mike has really improved his craftsmanship over the year and I think the rods look awesome with the changes he has made.

I also picked up my new 70M and a SJ782 spinning rod for shakey head fishing. I am looking forward to getting back on the water and using it.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Wes it is nice when we can hit the mark. I am working hard to cut the time it takes for delivery. One of the things we are doing is changing the way we build the rods. Not the crafsmanship We will be building the rods ahead this means the color of the threads will be black tipped in gold. If Anglers would like it custom they can still order them with the understanding the time it will take. If I can't start building until Anglers order it delivery time gets pushed back. This will speed up delivery time. I would like to thank everyone that has had to wait beyond promised date you have been great if you have had an issue with that please contact me. I have looked at all the Technical problems we have had for the last year and will correct the procedures in our control. Southwestern Parts in Dallas is carring our rods. We will strive to put the product where Anglers can get their hands on them the first of the year is our goal. Until then Hendrix Rods asks you to continue to purchase trough the web, or calling it in. We do back the rods 100% no questions asked. Again thank you Wes good fishing Michael. PS Mike GO FISHING!

Excellent work on the rods Mike. I got to see the work you did for Wes, very nice.

I'll add....if you have Mike do some fancy thread work....he tosses a bass in on the deal too! :-)

I'm looking forward to next year. With the new processes in place and the lessons that have been learned I fully expect that problems encountered this past year will be exactly that -- the past.

Here is a picture of the rod he built for Wes:

Who's blanks do you use and what type of material? Looking at the Hendrix website I can not determine anything other then one blurb about IM6 graphite.

The blanks are not a standard off the shelf blank, they are a proprietary design. Hendrix can get any blank that you could want -- Loomis, St. Croix, Setyr, etc... But the ones he sells on the webpage are this other blank -- I do not know the name of the blank. From a material standpoint, all of the blanks listed on the webpage right now are IM-6 with the exception of the SJ782 which is an IM-8 blank (I think that is the only one). For 2008 there will be more IM-8 rods in the line up.

You have a good point about it not being clear. I made a single statement that the blanks are IM-6 and then on the 782 page I noted that it was an IM-8 blank. I should add a statement of the material used for each model number for clarity.

Thanks for the feedback and hopefully this answered your question.
